Sfc 2 Heavyweight Predictions

Updated on February 12, 2020

After a wild and crazy SFC 1, we saw a couple of new fighters emerge and some more fight teams form. Now, almost everybody has that extra motivation to win for their teams. It will be interesting to see exactly who is able to get those Heavyweight victories at SFC 2.

Neither title changed hands at SFC 1 and we will see if there's any different outcome in this event.

Note: "League Prediction" is based off of the time of this writing

SFC 2 Heavyweight Undercard:

#18 Gage Bodine vs (NR) Luka Saric

Bodine looked good in his debut, despite losing his fight to Jerome Andrews. I think Bodine gets his win back against a debuting Saric.

My Prediction: Bodine, early Rnd 2 KO

League Prediction: Bodine (21-5)

#16 Brayden Boat v #19 Ken Shamrock Jr.

This is the chance for Shamrock Jr., son on the legendary mma fighter to step up on a major stage. After losing to Yah Tazee, he will get that win back back making his dad proud.

My Prediction: Shamrock Jr., mid Rnd 2 submission

League Prediction: Boat (21-13)

#15 Jerome Andrews vs #17 Daniel Johnson

"The Pistol" put on a hell of a show in his debut fight with Gage Bodine. I think he will keep the momentum going by putting Daniel down to 0-3 for his career.

My Prediction: Andrews, late Rnd 1 KO

League Prediction: Andrews (26-7)

#12 John Barnhart v #14 Tyrone Bowie

Both of these men won their debut fights, so the result here could be pivotal to one of these men climbing the ranks and possibly into the top 10. My money is on Bowie, after a fairly even fight.

My Prediction: Bowie, late Rnd 2 KO

League Prediction: Bowie (19-14)

#11 Lincoln Kingseed v #13 Yah Tzee

Speaking of the top 10, the winner of this bout is almost guaranteed a top 10 ranking following SFC 2. Kingseed has one more fight under his belt than Tzee (who KO'd the aforementioned Shamrock Jr.), but Tzee seems like he wants it just a little more, in my opinion.

My Prediction: Tzee, early Rnd 2 KO

League Prediction: Kingseed (23-10)

Heavyweight Main Card:

#8 Wally Herman v #10 Mason Stonewall

Herman is coming off of a loss to Sean Brocklin (bringing him down to 1-2), while Stonewall comes in at 1-1. Stonewall has slightly less experience, but sometimes that's a good thing. The #10 ranked fighter will come out swinging, and will eventually land that KO shot, boosting him up the rankings.

My Prediction: Stonewall, late Rnd 2 KO

League Prediction: Stonewall (27-6)

#7 Signore Chappell vs #9 Brian Craven

Despite me saying Chappell could be a low-key contender for Peyton Cash, he lost his SFC 1 fight to Syntax Error (leaving him at 1-2). However, I won't let that keep me from picking him again here. Craven is 1-1, but Chappell seems to have a slightly stronger edge, which will come into play before round 3.

My Prediction: Chappell, late Rnd 2 KO

League Prediction: Chappell (23-10)

#4 Dejuan Jennings vs #6 Sean Brocklin

It seems like "The Nightmare" has been losing every time he's in a prime spot. In the Heavy Hitters 1 tournament, Jennings took back to back losses against Rob Masters and Brett Bartels. Sitting at 2-3, he's taking on Sean Brocklin (2-1), who is looking to prove he can thrive where Jennings has been unable to. However, I just can't see Jennings dropping to 2-4. He has too much potential to let that happen.

My Prediction: Jennings, early Rnd 3 KO

League Prediction: Jennings (21-12)

#3 Brett Bartels vs #5 Syntax Error

This looks like it could be the top contender match for the Heavyweight championship, and it should be a pretty good one. Bartels is coming off of a brutal 3rd round submission loss to champion, Peyton Cash. We all know "The Hit Man" is furious and wants another chance. In order to do so, he will have to go through the #5 ranked fighter.

Syntax Error has stated in an interview that he feels he has earned a shot at Peyton Cash's title. Should he get past Bartels, that very well could happen (provided he retains his belt in the main event). However, this will be no easy task and I have Bartels being a bit too focused and angry to let Error stay around long enough to try and steal one.

My Prediction: Bartels, early Rnd 2 KO

League Prediction: Bartels (28-7)

Heavyweight Main Event: Heavyweight Championship #1 Peyton Cash(C) v #2 Rob Masters

Peyton retain in SFC 1 over Brett Bartels with a very impressive/nasty right straight - armbar combination. Cash is the champion for a reason, and undoubtedly not someone to mess with.

Here to mess with him in SFC 2 is the man who Cash submitted to win the title during Heavy Hitters 1, Rob Masters. Masters is a great fighter in his own right, as he holds a 4-1 record and defeated "The Nightmare" DeJuan Jennings at SFC 1.

These men know each other well, which naturally makes this an intruiging showdown. In the end, I'm going with the champion to retain his title after Masters comes close a few times.

My Prediction: Cash, mid Rnd 2 submission

League Prediction: Cash (25-9)
