Sfc 3 Heavyweight Predictions
"WE HAVE A NEW CHAMPION!" echoed through the arena at SFC 2, as Rob Masters dethroned Peyton Cash. Will Masters see his reign end as quickly as it began?
We will be going through predictions here (obviously, if you read the title) to see how this event shakes out.
Let's take a look at the Heavyweight card!
Note: "League Prediction" is based off the time of this writing
Undercard
#16 Jerome Andrews vs #19 Gage Bodine
"Pistol" was upset by Daniel Johnson at SFC 2. Many think it was a fluke, as Andrews tired himself out and left the door open for a knockout shot.
Here at SFC 3, we will be getting a rematch with Andrews against the #19 Gage Bodine (0-3). Bodine was taken care of pretty handily in Jerome's debut. I honestly don't see a different result.
My Prediction: Andrews, early Rnd 2 KO
League Prediction: Andrews (25-4)
#15 Luka Saric vs #17 Ken Shamrock Jr.
Ken Shamrock Jr. won his SFC 2 fight over Brayden Boat. He sits at 1-1, looking to hop up a few spots with a win over Luca Saric. Saric is 1-0 with his win coming over the aforementioned Gage Bodine. I expect Saric to come in and not take Shamrock as seriously as he should after that victory, and it just might cost him the fight.
My Prediction: Shamrock Jr., late Rnd 2 KO
League Prediction: Saric (23-5)
#12 John Barnhart vs #14 Daniel Johnson
Daniel Johnson will take his momentum from getting the KO on Jerome Andrews and build on that by taking out the 1-1 John Barnhart, fresh off a loss to Tyrone Bowie.
My Prediction: Johnson, late Rnd 2 KO
League Prediction: Johnson (26-3)
#11 Wally Herman vs #13 Lincoln Kingseed
Wally Herman sits at 1-3, but he seems to be learning with experience. Lincoln Kingseed is 1-2 and coming off of a loss to Yah Tzee. I think Herman gets back on track here, but it won't be easy.
My Prediction: Herman, mid Rnd 3 KO
League Prediction: Kingseed (18-12)

Main Card
#9 Tyrone Bowie vs #10 Brian Craven
Like I mentioned, Bowie just defeated Barnhart. Brian Craven submitted Brayden Boat, although his other two fights resulted in losses. Bowie will build off of his perfect start, and move to 3-0 here.
My Prediction: Bowie, mid Rnd 2 KO
League Prediction: Bowie (21-8)
#7 DeJuan Jennings vs #8 Yah Tzee
This battle should be interesting. Jennings is one of the more seasoned fighters in the SFC when it comes to the number of actual matches. He is a veteran... but he is also 2-4. Yah Tzee has been impressive to start his career, as just like Tyrone Bowie, Tzee is 2-0. I think Tzee will also move to 3-0 after this event. I would like to see a 3-0 Bowie vs the 3-0 Tzee at SFC 4...
My Prediction: Tzee, late Rnd 2 KO
League Prediction: Tzee (21-8)
#5 Brett Bartels vs #6 Signore Chappell
Brett Bartels suffered a pretty surprising defeat at SFC 2 at the hands of Syntax Error. He was basically beat from beginning to end of that fight. The 3-2 Bartels looks to keep his record above .500 when he faces the 6th ranked Signore Chappell. Chappell also lost to Error before he scored a submission victory against Brian Craven. I think Bartels bounces back in this one to stay within title contention.
My Prediction: Bartels, late Rnd 1 KO
League Prediction:
#2 Peyton Cash vs #4 Sean Brocklin II
This will be Peyton Cash's first match as a contender rather than the champion (not including the initial Heavyweight tournament). It will be interesting to see how Cash succeeds (or fails) in this role. That upset win by Rob Masters ended the former champion's 5-0 undefeated streak.
Sean Brocklin II makes his first appearance within title contention here, at 3-1. The 6'5" "Bear" has looked impressive, as he pulled of an upset at SFC 2 by knocking out "The Nightmare" DeJuan Jennings.
This is a battle between two hungry competitors, and I think it will come down to whether Peyton Cash maintains his focus enough to move forward, or keep looking back on his fight with Masters, allowing himself to be mauled by "The Bear".
My Prediction: Cash, mid Rnd 1 KO
League Prediction: Cash (28-2)

SFC 3 Heavyweight Main Event: Heavyweight Championship #1 Rob Masters(c) vs #3 Syntax Error
SFC 2 saw possibly the biggest upset in SFC history when Rob Masters beat the undefeated Peyton Cash for the Heavyweight championship. Masters (5-1) looks to defend his new title for the very first time.
His opening challenger is the 3-1 Syntax Error. Error is coming off wins over guys like Brett Bartels and Signore Chappell, who are no pushovers themselves. There is no doubt Error has earned this opportunity, and time will tell if he can take advantage of it.
Unfortunately for the #3 ranked Syntax, I think Masters will shut his dream down. The champion knows all too well how special it is to be in the position he is in. Masters knows too much about the chase, and he won't let it end this quickly.
My Prediction: Masters, late Rnd 2 KO
League Prediction: Masters (21-9)
