SFC Exclusive Interview: Chaz "Showtime" Michaels
I mentioned in a previous interview that the SFC is full of wild characters who have no problem telling you they will knock you out before doing just that. Today's interview will be a friend of mine who has plenty of that in him.
Just recently making his successful SFC debut and sitting with me today is Chaz Michaels, aka "Showtime". He has no problem telling it like it is, but he's also well aware of what he says. Let's get started with the SFC newcomer!
Q1: Congratulations on winning your debut fight against Cai Cash. How would you grade your performance along with your thoughts on Cai?
"I would give it a B+. I escaped as much as I can and controlled the ground and I feel like that’s what gave me the match.
Cash definitely has a lot of potential. He came out swinging and it definitely showed and paid off for him. I look forward to fighting him again and I could see this as a friendly rivalry."
Q2: What interested you in picking up mma and joining the SFC?
"Well after already bring a champion in football, I figured I try my work into another sport. If I can be a champion here, it’s not telling what else I can do."
Q3: Now that you're in the SFC, what are your goals here?
"It'd be dope to be a champ again but I can see this as a humbling experience. No teammates to rely on, it’s up to me to bring in that win."
Q4: Tell me about Team LCA. What it is, and what others should expect.
"We’re definitely a family more than friends and I think that’s what other people tend to forget. Yeah we love the spotlight, thus being LCA but myself, Pistol, Buzzsaw and Primetime, we plan to stick it out with each other, win or lose. Expect the best outta every fight from us no matter what the outcome is."
Q5: There's plenty of trash talk happening around the league. You and I go back, so I know these kind of mind games are right up your alley. Any advice for some of the young guys here, who focus on the talking more than the fighting?
"Uhhh, I would say this is definitely more fighting than talking. This is definitely not the league to talk until you’ve proven yourself."
What's your opinion on "fight teams" in the SFC?
Q6: Any final words for the rest of the SFC?
"Thanks for bringing me in and it’s about to be an LCA takeover."
Thanks for taking the time out to speak with me, Mr. Michaels. Good luck here in the SFC!
"Thanks for having me."
