SFC Exclusive Interview: Dax Lewis

Updated on February 15, 2020

Okay... so I got an interview with Superwoman last time which got cut off (and evidently let to a booked match between Ty White and Akira Cesaro for SFC 3) and taken over.

Today we're going to try this again and hope for a better result. I'm here today with Dax Lewis, who does plenty of work behind the curtain as well as in the octagon.

Let's get this interview going, there are some answers I want to get!

Q1: What made you get involved with the SFC behind the scenes?

"The obvious answer is that I had the game and the ability to host more weights, so I needed to be privy to certain things. However, truth be told, I love having the chance to be a part of something as fun, in depth, and exciting as the SFC. Being an MMA enthusiast, coupled with being a fan of simulation E-sports, definitely helped make me want to dive in as much as I have, and more."

Q2: What's your honest opinion on the different fight teams?

"I wasn't real enthusiastic about teams when we started, it's kind of what drew me to the league in the first place; the ability to stand on one's own and have success, the freedom to determine your own stats and play-style. However, when L.C.A was formed, it automatically made teams a thing in the league. You either adapt or die in sports, so I surrounded myself with people I trusted, people I knew wanted to be successful and others have, hopefully for their sakes, done the same."

Q3: Two teams who take their bitter rivalry with each other very seriously is Team LCA and Apex Predators. What's your take on this feud? Do you hope to see more or would you rather focus less on fight teams in the SFC?

"Obviously, rivalries are going to exist whether teams do or not. It's sports... E-Sports at that. I've come to believe that having people in your corner is going to be crucially beneficial moving forward, and having a Team Rivalry adds an extra layer of complexity that makes the SFC stand above other leagues in the genre.

As for L.C.A. and Apex, I think it started off getting pretty heated, but then Apex went 5-0, and we've obviously silenced our doubters.

Look at SFC 3 for instance. Three Title Fights and a member of Apex is in each one of them. We boast an Undefeated champion and if L.C.A., or any team for that matter, is still doubting us, then that sounds like it's their problem."

Q4: This league just saw the inclusions of the Welterweight and Light Heavyweight divisions. What exactly made you guys decide to add extra classes?

"More weights equals more fights. More fights equals more players. It's that simple."

Q5: You have a fighter who just moved into the new Welterweight division. Unfortunately he didn't go all the way in the opening tournament. Tell us a little about him, like his background story and fighting style.

"Dax Lewis had a good showing, getting a submission victory at the bell in Round 1, a knockout and a bye in Round 2, but suffered possibly the most spectacular knockout I've ever seen in the finals. But he showed great potential, and for that, I'm excited moving forward.

He's a young man who had a decent amateur career in the Northeastern circuit. Struggles a bit with Submission Defense and obviously has a susceptibility to being caught off guard by the counter strikes. I think he's smart, part of a great team and the more he learns, the better he will be in the long term."

Do you like the inclusions of the Welterweight and Light Heavyweight divisions?

Q6: Is there anything else you're looking to add to the SFC?

"The league is constantly changing, discussing things that are working and things that aren't. I don't believe the SFC staff, or the SFC in general, is built to fail."

Q7: Any final comments on the SFC or for the fighters involved?

"I'd like to thank Lincoln Kingseed! That man has put some serious effort and some personal money into making a great website and he did it all without being asked to, without complaint, and with great success.

GO APEX!!!"

Thank you so much for your time, Mr. Lewis. Best of luck with the SFC, both behind the scenes and inside the octagon.

"Thanks for having me!"

This is the Simulation Fighting Championship, based off of the UFC 3 video game. In this league, you create a fighter, make their own Twitter account (optional, but recommended) and upgrade their ratings as you progress before your very eyes! Thanks for reading, and we hope you join us in the octagon very soon!
