SFC Exclusive Interview: Heavyweight Champion Peyton Cash
Heavy Hitters 1 has come and gone, and what an event it was! There were plenty of crazy knockouts, massive upsets and even a bit of bad blood brewing between a couple of potential future contenders.
Our focus today is none other than the victor of the tournament, Peyton Cash! He sits down with me to discuss his fighting style, the aforementioned rivalry going on, and even the Middleweight champion! Let's have a look!
Q1: First of all, congratulations on winning the tournament! Now, I gotta start with the usual question, how does it feel to hold that Heavyweight title, as SFC's first ever Heavyweight champion?
"Holding this championship is very amazing. I never felt this proud in my entire life."
Q2: You won the Heavy Hitters 1 tournament mostly by submissions, but you also won by knockout in round 1. What separates you from your competition?
"I think that submissions are the way to go. I did learn from the best woman to ever do a submission inside the octogan, UFC HoFer Ronda Rousey."
Q3: What made you go Heavyweight over MiddleWeight?
"Heavyweight to me has got more power than Middleweight."
Q4: In your opinion (other than the obvious weight difference), what's the differences between the Heavyweight and Middleweight divisions? Do you see Middleweight as something "beneath you"?
"We are fighters here. Class types don't determine who is the best. It is who fights to be the best."
Q5: It seems as though Jon Fowler and Thomas Noble are sparking up quite a personal rivalry. What are your thoughts on them as fighters and potential contenders?
"Thomas and I are amazing friends and I know he has some moves that he can beat Fowler with. Fowler, I have no idea who he is."
Q6: Middleweight champion Tony Hall claimed that no matter who won the Heavyweight championship wouldn't "be as impressive" as him. What are your thoughts on Hall and would you ever consider a champion vs champion showdown with him?
"Hall hasn't seen greatness yet. One day we will have a match so that I can make him eat his words."
Should we see Peyton Cash vs Tony Hall?
Q7: Do you have any final words for the rest of the SFC?
"Expect greatness."
I appreciate you taking the time out to speak with me, Mr. Cash. Congrats again, and best of luck in the SFC!
"Never Trust the Convict."
