Updated on February 8, 2020

Following the highly successful Ground and Pound 1 (MiddleWeight tournament), the SFC put on quite a show with Heavy Hitters 1 (Heavyweight tournament) and crowned the first ever SFC Heavyweight champion.

Much like we did with the MiddleWeight class, let's take a look through the Heavy Hitters Standings!

Note: there were in fact 16 fighters in the Heavy Hitters tournament, but Chris Paulk quit after his loss, so his standing will not be reflected in the following list.

#6-3

6. Syntax Error

Record: 1-1

Defeated by: Peyton Cash

Syntax went through Lincoln Kingseed Sr. in his first bout of the tournament, taking it to the 2nd round. Unfortunately, he was submitted by Peyton Cash after that.

5. Signore Chappell

Record: 1-1

Defeated by: Rob Masters

The kickboxing specialist managed to knock out former middleweight - converted heavyweight Tyson Cooper in the 3rd round. He then went to judge's decision with Rob Masters, who ultimately got the nod. Definitely a potential contender here.

4. DeJuan Jennings

Record: 2-3

Defeated by: Rob Masters, Brett Bartels

Ranked 4th here in the standings, Jennings is the only fighter to have lost multiple times last night. Following his wins over Brian Craven and Wally Herman, the 6'7" boxer suffered a first round knockout at the hands of Rob Masters, then was defeated by Brett Bartels in the battle for 3rd place.

3. Brett Bartels

Record: 3-1

Defeated by: Peyton Cash

Going 3-1 and sitting at rank 3, Bartels handled his business pretty convincingly with wins over Brayden Boat and Sean Brocklin II. He eventually fell against Peyton Cash by submission, but ended his night with a win over DeJuan Jennings to claim 3rd place. Brett Bartels is absolutely a contender in the near future.

#2

2. Rob Masters

Record: 3-1

Defeated by: Peyton Cash

Rob Masters was a healthy surprise in the Heavy Hitters 1 event. "The Renegade" notched victories under his belt against John Stanley IV, Signore Chappell and "The Nightmare" DeJuan Jennings before succumbing to the Heavyweight champion, Peyton Cash.

Masters has to be considered one of the favorites to challenge for the title next, despite submitting in the second round.

#1

1. Peyton Cash (C)

Record: 4-0

Defeated by: N/A

The undefeated, 4-0 Heavyweight champion is Peyton Cash. Despite looking like an armbar machine later on, Cash won his first match against Chris Paulk by knockout in round 2.

"The Convict" submitted his next three opponents in Syntax Error, Brett Bartels and Rob Masters. Peyton is on top of the world right now, and celebrating his Heavy Hitters 1 victory while also keeping and eye toward the future to see who his first challenger will be.
