Sachin Tendulkar - Early stages

Sachin Tendulkar was born on 24th of April, 1973 in Mumbai to a Marathi novelist, Ramesh Tendulkar. Sachin was initiated into cricket by his elder brother Ajit and started playing the game at an early age in his school. Under the guidance of his coach, Ramakant Achrekar, he learnt the basics of the game and showed his batting prowess along with his schoolmate and another future batsman of the Indian team, Vinod Kambli.

When 16 years old, Sachin entered the world of international cricket and his first encounter was against Pakistan at Karachi and experts then opined that the diminutive Sachin Tendulkar’s short physical stature will be his disadvantage. Ironically, Sachin emerged as a gigantic player of the game and scored prodigiously against all the fiercest bowlers and toughest teams in the world.

Sachin's Net Worth

Sachin Tendulkar has earned fabulously in his cricketing career and has made several millions as endorsement and match fees. The reigning monarch of the cricket world, Sachin Tendulkar got a whopping Rs 100 crores as fees for product endorsements till a few years ago and successfully runs a restaurant in Mumbai.

However, there is a popular misconception that Sachin Tendulkar is a Billionaire measured in US Dollars. This is untrue as his 1.37 Billion of net worth is in Indian Rupees and this is Rs.137 Crore of net worth - and that is US $ 27.4 Million in US Dollars. Does anybody truly know what Sachin’s actualnet worth is? Most of what appears in the media is at best mere conjecture.

The fact is there is no official Sachin Tendulkar website or Sachin Tendulkar blog presently on the Internet. This is understandable as Sachin Tendulkar too busy a celebrity and may rarely get time to write blogs. All the sites that now exist are created by his fans and media – few of them well-informed and many ill-informed. It is therefore difficult to do a proper valuation of his presumably privately held properties – both movable and immovable.

But it is widely reported that Sachin Tendulkar makes money faster than runs. If the last available statistics are any indication, Tendulkar is the highest paid cricketer in the world and makes around Rs 61.15 Crores a year or Rs1163 per minute. These figures could be more but certainly not less.

Tendulkar is not forthcoming when asked about his finances. He reportedly remarked “What matters for me is my cricket and nothing else. Doing all these personal advertisements does not make me the most successful cricketer. All that matters is what I do on the cricket field. It all happens because of that. Winning matches for India is all what I want”.

Sachin Tendulkar’s New Home

Sachin Tendulkar bought a new 9000 Sq feet house in Bandra Area in Mumbai - admeasuring 9000 sq. feet. It is believed that Sachin Tendulkar's new house is worth a whopping Rs. 39 crores in Indian Rupees. The bungalow is called Dorab Villa and is situated just opposite to the Joggers’ Park on Perry Cross Road.

Besides the lush green environs and elite neighborhood, the place is strategically located and close to Mumbai’s famous shopping malls, multiplexes, the very best of hotels and restaurants.  Sachin Tendulkar is however reticent as to what he intends to do with the newly acquired property.

The Future

What the future holds for Tendulkar? He says"I want to go as far as I can. When I started playing cricket, I never thought about how far I was going to go. I just want to go out and enjoy playing At the moment the thought of quitting had not crossed his mind”. He is currently playing the IPL T20 Cricket and is one of the top scorers in the tournament

Sachin Tendulkar did not have any special advantage of birth or growing up. It is destiny that shaped and guided his cricketing career - whether by making his Test debut at the young age of 16 or his breaking world records, one after the other, with a stunning regularity. There are things about genius we will never understand. Tendulkar is destiny’s child – handpicked by the Gods. There can be nothing more to say.
