Sfc 2 Middleweight Predictions
The Sfc 2 Heavyweights put on a show, and the Middleweights will attempt to follow it up. This half of the event will feature some intriguing matchups, including to competitor from two rival fight teams going at it.
Among other things, we'll be seeing the next step from an interview gone wrong, a fighter trying to prove himself, rival teams going head on in a contender's match, and there will be an underdog battling for the title!
I say let's just jump right into the card!
Note: "League Predictions" are based off the time of this writing
Middleweight Undercard
(NR) Andrew Schiffer vs (NR) Jacob McCall
This is a toss up in the debut match for both rookie fighters. I'm going with McCall, as he has the mma-style background.
My Prediction: McCall, early Rnd 2 KO
League Prediction: Schiffer (23-15)
#16 Ryan Yoseph vs #18 Ivan Fisher
Yoseph (0-2) is hoping to pick up his first victory here in the SFC. Based on his opponent's debut fight, that could very well happen here (sorry, Ivan). I have Yoseph picking up the knockout win to drop (GET IT?) Fisher to 0-2.
My Prediction: Yoseph, mid Rnd 2 KO
League Prediction: Yoseph (26-8)
#15 Ty White vs #17 Cai Cash
After Ty White's impromptu interview it's obvious that his sights are set on Akira Cesaro and not Cai Cash. After Cash's impressive KO on Fisher, it'd be hard to take the unfocused White in this one.
My Prediction: Cash, late Rnd 1 KO
League Prediction: White (21-13)
#12 Chaz Michaels vs #14 Jonnie Burns
"Prettyboy" Chaz Michaels won his debut fight over Cai Cash and looked very dominant in the ground game. Michaels looks to carry that momentum into SFC 2 against Jonnie Burns, who is looking for his first win. I have "Prettyboy" picking up the knockout win here, representing Team LCA.
My Prediction: Michaels, late Rnd 1 KO
League Prediction: Michaels (27-7)
#11 Qua'Sean DaaKingo vs #13 Akira Cesaro
Speaking of Team LCA and 0-2, that best describes Akira Cesaro. He is taking on Qua'Sean DaaKingo, who is 1-1 and apart of Team Quest.
Speaking of Team Quest, Cesaro might take exception to being called out during Superwoman's interview by Ty White. Akira quickly accepted White's challenge, but we'll see if Cesaro will let White get into his head or use this as motivation and make an example out of DaaKingo... only time will tell.
My Prediction: Cesaro, decision
League Prediction: Cesaro (20-14)
Which Middleweight Undercard match are you most looking forward to?
Middleweight Main Card
#9 Jalen Smith vs #10 Jah Wheeler
Both of these fighters are pretty balanced, sitting at 1-1 and just inside of the top 10 in rankings. While Smith was defeated by Jett Maretti, Jah Wheeler's only loss was to Middleweight Champion, Tony Hall. I'm going to take Wheeler in this one, with a fairly quick knockout win.
My Prediction: Wheeler, late Rnd 1 KO
League Prediction: Smith (20-14)
#6 William Thompson vs #8 Jett Maretti
Thompson is coming off a loss to Elysia Gallows, which very well could have costed him a top contender match. Meanwhile, Maretti just defeated Jalen Smith and is feeling pretty good right now. I can't help but always think Thompson is never out of any fight he is in, and how close he was to a potential title match is enough to push him over the top.
My Prediction: Thompson, early Rnd 2 KO
League Prediction: Thompson (26-8)
#5 Roberto Pererya vs #7 Braxton Hope
5th ranked Roberto Pererya was submitted by Tony Hall in his title fight at SFC 2. Despite walking away empty handed, Pererya more than held his own, connecting multiple times with strikes that knocked Hall back. It looked like Pererya might pull it off, before the arm bar was locked in. Braxton Hope comes in at #7, fresh off a win over Jonnie Burns. He looks to put himself on the map by beating a top Middleweight fighter. Unfortunately for Hope, I don't see Pererya losing this one.
My Prediction: Pererya, early Rnd 2 KO
League Prediction: Pererya (25-10)
#2 Salvatore Cash-Money vs #4 Elysia Gallows
I'm excited for this contender's match: Team LCA vs Apex Predators. Salvatore Cash-Money vs Elysia Gallows. The winner will likely take on the Middleweight champion at SFC 3. On the line in this one is a title match and bragging rights, so this will be one to watch.
Cash-Money has made his name off of straight up knocking fools out. Salvatore sports a 4-2 record (the only two men to beat him are battling it out in the main event), and Elysia Gallows is 3-1.
What I'm curious of is the possible scenario where both Gallows wins here and Tony Hall retains his title. Would we see teammates battle for the belt? Could it cause dissension between teammates? Would Gallows forfeit his title opportunity?
However, I don't see this scenario playing out, as Cash-Money scores another knockout win, and battles for the title at SFC 3.
My Prediction: Cash-Money, mid Rnd 2 KO
League Prediction: Gallows (19-14)
Which Middleweight Main Card match are you most looking forward to?
Middleweight Main Event: Middleweight Championship #1 Tony Hall (C) vs #3 Thomas Noble
We get to see a fresh new title match here, as 6-0 undefeated champ Tony Hall defends against the 3-1 Thomas "Bonecrusher" Noble. We all know about Hall, as he pulled out his signature arm bar and scored the win over Roberto Pererya at SFC 2.
The twist, however is his opponent. Representing OMEGA, Noble pulled off a shocking upset over Salvatore Cash-Money at the last event, which earned him this opportunity. I know he is beyond stoked for this chance, and I personally don't think this will be his last.
In order for Noble to pull out back to back phenomenal upsets, Noble has to prevent Tony Hall from even attempting his submission. How do you do that? Step into that octagon and knock his a** out! The challenger's only chance of winning this fight (in my opinion) is to be the "Bonecrusher" and end this fight as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately for Noble, Hall is a little too polished for that. Noble will put up an excellent fight and prove a worthy opponent... but in the end we will see the familiar submission finish.
My Prediction: Hall, late rnd 2 submission
League Predictions: Hall (19-16)
