The official hub for Baltimore Oriole's fans

Updated on November 18, 2015

STOP! If you aren't a Baltimore Orioles fan, then you may want to proceed to another hub!

This hub is only meant for the die hard Baltimore Oriole's fans who have been through some really tough times over the past few years. This hub is about the birds and the bees, and is definitely not for the weak at heart. There's a bunch of us Orioles fans out there in this big world, so none of us will ever feel lonely. However we all certainly don't hold our breath while waiting for another win. There are many reasons that we continue to root for our beloved Orioles. They may be our home team, or the closest team near where we live. They may be the first team that we ever got to see in person at a major league baseball game. We may have been given a Baltimore Oriole hat or jersey when we were small children. What ever the reason may be, we stick with the Orioles through thick and thin.

There have been some really hard times in Bird Land for the past few years. Some people don't think things will improve in Camden Yards until we finally get a new owner. Some people blame all of the Oriole's problems on the front office. Some people believe that the Baltimore Orioles have been jinxed, since moving from Memorial Stadium on 33rd street to Camden Yards in downtown Baltimore. This was thought to have happened just so the ball club could be by the inner harbor for tourist, and the local crowd didn't like the idea. The Orioles haven't won a world series since 1983, and they have never ever played one world series game in Camden Yards. One third or more of the population of Baltimore hasn't even been alive long enough on this earth to remember the Baltimore Orioles being in a world series. The Orioles haven't even been a contender in the post season for 15 years. The last time they ever saw post season play was back in 1997. I hate to say it, but if you were to keep track of all of their wins and losses, you would save a lot of ink by just writing down their wins. The only thing now left is for some idiot to write some ridiculous haiku about them.

Now you might think after reading this so far, that I'm being rather negative towards the Orioles. The truth of the matter is I'm a true fan of the beloved Orioles, I have orange blood flowing throughout my veins. I have felt the same pain inside of myself that so many other Oriole fans have felt over the years. So let's all look at some of the positive things that our Orioles do. They help out the local community in many different ways to include the OriolesREACH food drive. They are getting ready to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Camden Yards. They are preparing to celebrate their very own Oriole's legend "Frank Robinson" with a bronze sculpture at Camden Yards, and at the start of the 2012 baseball season they off to a good strong start. However we've been down this road countless times before, and I'm not about to jinx any of their good fortune by making some crazy prediction about this season's outcome like I've done on my other sport hubs.

In the 1970s the Baltimore Orioles were the winning-est team in all of baseball, with great names like Jim Palmer, Frank Robinson, Brook Robinson, and Earl Weaver. But all of this was the past. The Orioles won 3 world series in 1966, 1970, and 1983. They were American league champions 6 times between 1966 through 1983. The Baltimore Orioles were the American League East champions 8 times between 1969 through 1997. During those 3 decades they were even an American league wild card in 1996. All of these glory days shall return someday for all of the die hard Oriole's fans, like myself, who have hung in there through those long hot days of summer. We just have to remember that the Orioles are doing good so far, and that patience is a virtue. So for now we'll just keep on enjoying those great Orioles Esskay hot dogs!

If you had to choose another team other than the Baltimore Orioles, who would it be?
