Things I like about Germany

It’s been 3 years now when I came to Germany from India.The best thing about this place is that people not only work but enjoy their life too. They spend their time participating in cultural events and sports. This place is calm and clean, still quite happening. Weekends are meant for taking rest and enjoying.

Here are few more things which I like the most being in Germany.

Here in winters it’s too cold and summers are too hot but the best seasons are autumn and spring. The reason I like these seasons is this place turns so colorful and happening during these seasons. In autumn, when leaves start turning from green to yellow and red, the trees and plants look like bouquet of colorful leaves. During spring, this place is full of flowers of different variety.The gardens get lively and enriched with colorful flowers surrounded with green leaves and grass.

Here people are quite conscious about their fitness. They are involved in one or the other sport. Football is the most popular sport here. There are lots of fitness centers and sports ground. People can be seen jogging in all seasons and at any time of the day, be it morning or evening. They give time to their fitness through gym, sports, exercising.

Summer time is the most happening season and the most enjoyable season here. People come out of their house for sunlight. This is the time for celebrating various fests. Many fests are organized on different locations with different themes like children fest, bergerstrasse fest with live rock band performances, musical firework and many more such kinds of theme fests are there. On various days farmers market are organized with fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers available on sale.

Friday evening is the most happening time in a week. Many people can be seen outside partying in group with beer in their hands.

Garbage is categorized in proper way. The garbage is kept sorted for proper recycling purpose. Every building has various waste containers of different colors for throwing different type of wastes for example, papier(for paper waste),verpackung(for packing waste),Bio(kitchen waste which can be used for bio fertilizers in the garden like vegetables peel etc). Similarly for glass and other types of waste, different waste containers are there.

Cycling is the most common means of commutation in Germany along with car and public transport. There are separate paths for cycle riders on main roads and long routes also. Mostly people like to do cycling here which not only good for health but also helps to keep the environment clean.

This is the best thing about Germany I like. When I first came here I did not know German language except for few common words. I started searching for English novel in various book shops but either it was too costly or not of my interest then I found public bookshelf. This is the unique library system for public where one can find varieties of books and can keep it back after reading the book. It is a great way to exchange books with other people without knowing them. It facilitates book lovers to have a variety of books like novels, dictionaries, guidebooks etc. at a single place.
