NBA Official Predictions for 2019 Free Agents

Kevin Durant- Golden State Warriors

Originally, I had KD going to the New York Knicks, but after the ruptured Achilles, I say he picks up his player option and stays in Golden State. Most players don't return the same after an Achilles injury, such as Rudy Gay and Wesley Matthews. Although NBA Legend Dominque Wilkins' injury healed just fine, Durant will be out the full 2019-2020 season.

Kawhi Leonard- Toronto Raptors

Coming off just winning the NBA Championship, it seems like a no brainier for the Klaw to stay and became a legend for the Raptors and the country of Canada

Kyrie Irving- Los Angeles Lakers

Kyrie hasn't really shown that he can be the first option on a team, and media has seen him apologize to his mentor LeBron, so I think that they reunite and complete a big three with Kyrie, LeBron, and AD

Jimmy Butler- Philadelphia 76ers

Philly continues to build off what they were doing last year, and sign Jimmy to a massive 4 year contract. New York, Indianapolis, and Utah could have been in the running, but I think he stays with Embiid and Simmons in Philly

Kemba Walker- Utah Jazz

Ok, this one seems a bit far fetched as Kemba has stated he would go below the max to stay in Charlotte, but I see him going to Utah. This is give Utah's offense a second option so that Donovan Mitchell won't get double teamed as much. This would also make Utah championship contenders in the West with this big three of Walker, Mitchell, and Gobert

Nikola Vucevic- Orlando Magic

Coming off a career year in which he made his first career all star team, Orlando intends to retain Vuc and build around him and Jonathan Isaac, so they resign him.I could also see him going to the Dallas Mavericks or Sacramento Kings, but I feel he is a loyal player so he resigns

Klay Thompson- Golden State Warriors

This seems like another no brainier similar to the Kawhi scenario, but with Klay tearing his ACL and likely being gone most, if not all the 2019-2020 season, Warriors will sign him to a deal just under the max.

Tobias Harris- Brooklyn Nets

I like Tobias, I really do but he does not deserve a max contract, which is why I believe the Nets will pull a mistake. After striking out on Kyrie, they get a borderline all star in Harris but offer him a max, which is not deserved for him...sorry.

D'Angelo Russell- Brooklyn Nets

In many predictions, they have Kyrie going to Brooklyn, which would make DLO leave in disgust. However, we have Kyrie going to LA so DLO stays on the Nets second max slot, and the Nets build a dynamic duo of Tobias Harris and D'Angelo Russell

Julius Randle- New York Knicks

So far, the Knicks have failed in picking up the top free agents in our prediction, so they go for a young PF in Randle to speed up their rebuild by giving him a max. This places Randle on a team with Kevin Knox, Dennis Smith Jr. and the 3rd pick in the draft which will be R.J. Barrett. Not the greatest signing by the Knicks, but still a great PF who can get way better.

Khris Middleton- Milwaukee Bucks

I don't really see why Middleton would leave the Bucks, after going to the ECF as a great second option to Giannis, he fits perfectly in the Bucks system, as they shoot a bunch of 3s which Middleton is great at. Also, I do not think that he would be able to lead his own team, so Bucks.

Kristaps Porzingis- Dallas Mavericks

All the Mavericks have to do is offer Porzingis the quallifying offer, and he resigns. Him and Luka Doncic could be a deadly duo in the future as they are both still very young, plus Dallas loves international players like oh I don't know....Dirk Nowitzki!

Al Horford- Boston Celtics

Horford as a 30M player option which he would of course accept, but he wants to be traded. So technically yes he resigns with Boston, but only for the money then requests a trade

Marc Gasol- Toronto Raptors

Similar to Horford, Gasol has a 25M player option that he will likely pickup due to just winning the NBA Championship. I think that if Leonard resigns, Gasol will follow him because in multiple interviews, he goes around the idea if Leonard resigns, he will no doubt pick up the option.

These are my NBA 2019 Free Agency Class predictions, thanks for looking!
