Vacationing Florida To Fish

Updated on March 17, 2011

Marathon Florida Fishing Women

Last winter we were getting pretty tired of the cold Chicago weather.Thinking it was time to hit the road in search of a great fishing trip, we decided to head to the Florida Keys. So we booked up a flight, ordered up a place to stay and loaded up the fishing gear.

A Spontaneous Fishing Trip

That was all done in just a matter of hours. The high speed use of the Internet allows. Next day we were driving out of Miami in a nice rental car that came with the package deal we found online. This was a late winter dream come true. We would be in Marathon Florida in less than 2 hours, sun, sand, surf and FISHING. That is what we came for and we were excited to say the least.

Locate The Marathon Lady

Now we had heard through the grapevine, to go to The Marathon Lady. She is a reef fishing, party boat and, that is what we came to do. The boat goes daily as long as the weather is safe. She stops to fish some of the many coral reefs in the area. The crew is extremely friendly and knowledgeable not to mention they will keep a hook on your line. Those guys will take the fish off, identify what you have caught and keep you out of trouble in every way.

This is a wonderful experience for anyone who has never fished the ocean. You can keep what you catch, if they are of legal size and, for a small fee the crew will clean your fish. There is also a restaurant right in front of the boat dock area that will cook up your fresh catch. I would jump at the chance to go fishing on The Marathon Lady anytime. Happy fishing ladies.

Don't Ask Me What They Are....The locals call them GRUNTS because of a funny sound they make when they are out of the water. I know they make a tasty meal!
