What in the world is a moral victory?
What's your thoughts in Seattle's victory over Denver? Was it a moral victory for Denver? Or Losssssss?
I didn't see the game but I heard Denver loss.
A "moral victory" is anything positive they can hang their hat on.
For instance in the first "Rocky" movie Rocky loses the fight but he was still standing at the end of 15 rounds after fighting the world heavy weight champion. He went "the distance".
A team that might have gotten trounced in an earlier meeting may see dramatic improvement next time which they believe they can build upon.
In other instances the losing team may have gotten a few bad calls. In their minds they didn't "lose the game". The (refs) gave it to the other team. Moral victories aren't reflected on stat sheets.
