Golf Laser rangefinders are becoming more popular than ever, especially with the upcoming Tiger's of the golf world. These finders use a class 1 Laser Beam, (which is classified safe by the FDA) which bounces off objects, such as your golf ball or flag pole, with the simple touch of a button. The high speed digital clocks then measure the time it took for the laser beam to hit the specific target and bounce back to the unit, then it calculates the distance and displays the distance in the LCD display. It's that fast, you need not worry that you will hold up the game. If your looking for the ideal present for that special occasion then you wont go wrong with one of these gifts for golf lovers.

A Brief Overview at The History of the Wee Golf Ball

The Golf Ball, a ball which is used in a game of golf, is to weigh no more than 1.620 oz, must have a diameter of no less than 1.680 in, and has to perform within specified distance, velocity, and symmetry limits.

Years ago the game was played with wooden balls, then around the 17th century featherie balls were introduced to the game, and before anyone asks, no I did not use the wooden or featherie balls;) The featherie ball remained around for about 200 years until 1848 when the Gutta-Percha Ball took over.

Multi-layered balls were introduced in the 20th century, of which was the birth of today's golf balls!

"Fore!"

A Golf Terminology!

"Fore!" What's This? If I'm on the course your sure to hear this ;) Fore is shouted out to warn you that there is a good chance that your about to get hit by a golf ball. The term "Fore", is believed to have first been used around the year 1881, according to a British Golf Museum.

"Fore" actually means "look ahead", of which is supposedly derived from a military term "beware before", which artillerymen who were about to fire a round or two, would yell out to alert others to hit the dirt so as they would not get hit.

So now you know why all the golfers are shouting "Fore".
