Pheasant Hunting Club in Michigan
The Haymarsh Hunt Club
In Michigan hunting is a favorite pastime for many families. Michigan offers great deer hunting and we use to have very good pheasant population but, alas; that is no longer true. Yes, you may see an occasional pheasant in the farm lands but it might not be a place you can hunt.
Michigan has about 300 licensed game bird hunting preserves which gives bird hunters (and their dogs) the ability to hunt from August 15 to April 30th.
HAYMARSH HUNT CLUB is where my husband is a member and boy are his dogs happy about that. Not only does my husband hunt the game birds but he also guides for hunters that do not have dogs which is a real bonus for our hunting dogs.
As you have probably figured out....this lens is about The Haymarsh Hunt Club
The Club House
Here is THE HAYMARSH HUNT CLUB club house. Inside is a large area to store the equipment needed to maintain the property, a cleaning area to clean your birds along with a kitchen and eating area. No outhouses here, there is also a nice warm restroom.
The club house is a great area for large hunting groups. Note: Businessmen, if you are looking for a great place to take your sales staff or want to do something special for your employees here is the perfect idea. Remember that kitchen I told you about? Well, plan a hunt and you can also include a very delicious meal. The ladies at THE HAYMARSH HUNT CLUB whip up meals you could only dream about. Meats, veggies and desserts. This would also be a great outing for family get togethers.
Look at those Tail Feathers
This is what it is all about. A great day with friends doing something that you love, hunting.
THE HAYMARSH HUNT CLUB offers pheasant, quail and chukars for your hunting enjoyment. You can select having birds released in some of the many fields or a European (tower) hunt. Whatever you choose will be a day of fun and lots of memories for years to come. There is nothing like being outside with a gun on your shoulder watching your amazing dogs work a field. By the way if you don't have a bird dog THE HAYMARSH HUNT CLUB will be happy to get a guide with his dog for you.
The Pheasant
The dictionary definition of the Pheasant: A genus of large, long tailed, game birds. The male has highly colored, varied plumage. They feed on insects, seeds and berries. They are native to Asia but many species are now found in Europe and North America.
It is truly a beautiful bird especially the North American ring neck, which is pictured here. The female is colored more like a mallard hen with browns and whites. She blends into the fields very well and having a dog to hunt with is a big help.
