Skateboarding is popular among teen boys. There are many deck designs to choose from. As you choose one keep in mind his favorite color, characters, music and whatever he is into. It helps to know those things when choosing a perfect skateboard for your teen boy.

I know teen boys can be hard to shop for I raised two of them. It was always mind boggling to figure out what to get that they would like. I was always one to get something useful but fun. One of my boys liked the skateboard scene which is popular among teens who love that kind exercise and thrill. His favorite color is color so that's what I went with for him.

It's a good idea to get some body gear for safety for all the bumps and bruises they'll take learning this sport. I've included some basic skateboard tips when choosing what's best for your son. Buying Skateboard Tips

Skateboard Items You'll Need

First you need to know where your son will be skateboarding at like on the street in front of your house, at the park on the ramps and will he need a longboard. Then check with your local shop in town. We have a skate park in town which is super nice for teens and anyone into skateboarding. I think they are safer than just on the street.

Keep in mind these these tips:

I made my own board out of chipboard and an old pair of ball bearing roller skates and it worked better than most of the shop bought ones back then. This was because my skates had been top quality steerable ones so I had front and back steering wheels and it was more manouverable than the bought boards of that time.

I am really jealous of today's kids as the designer boards and technology in their design makes these way better than even mine was then, plus the kids have developed all sorts of cool tricks that would have been quite beyond any of us back then!
