All About Acne

The human skin consists of three layers and is the largest organ in the body. It acts as a shield between the body and the thousands of foreign substances that can harm or damage the body. Our everyday environment contains that could harm and or even kill us if they were allowed to gain entry to our bodies.

You Can Clear Up Your Complexion And Your Acne.

The common skin condition Acne occurs when the sebaceous glands which lie just beneath the skin and produce the natural oils that keep the skin lubricated , become clogged or are not regenerated in sufficient quality to handle the load. This may result in whiteheads and or blackheads being formed. Pimples are formed when the bacteria is released from these clogged pores.

For serious blemishes try washing with Fels-Naptha Soap , strong stuff for oily skin. However if your skin is normal or dry , you'll need something gentler for your skin.

Acne occurs most commonly in teenagers but it is not uncommon even in people in their 40s-50's. This disease has many varieties and while not life threatening is can leave disfiguring scars that will last a lifetime.

Clearing Up The Outside From The Inside

Grandma like mothers everywhere , swears that all the high-fat food we love so much does a number on our complexions. Scientists may not be quite as convinced , but to be on the safe side , avoid chocolate chips and fried foods.

Eating more brown rice is good advice for improving overall health. Brown Rice is also good for your complexion. To ward off pimples and other facial blemishes , make brown rice a part of your regular diet.

Keeping the skin and body hydrated by drinking at least eight 8 oz. glasses of water daily is an effective method of keeping the skin clear and it assists greatly in clearing wastes from the body.

Studies show that the lack of Zinc may contribute to acne. Over to the right there are some great Zinc products at Amazon.

Spread It On Thick

To help fight pimples use a paste of onion and honey. Cook one sliced onion in a half cup of honey until it is tender.Mash with a fork to form into a paste and allow to cool. Apply to the problem area and leave it on for an hour before washing it away with warm soapy water. Use this treatment every night before going to bed until your complexion is clear and sparkling,

An application of egg whites helps distribute the skin's natural oils more evenly , eliminating both dry and oily patches on your skin. Swab the egg whites on your face with a cotton ball using care to cover all the problem or problem areas. Leave it on for 10 minutes and allow it to dry before you wash your face well with warm soapy water. Repeat this every night just before bedtime and you will find your acne going away and clearing up. Studies have shown that certain amino acids in the egg whites protein may have anti-inflamatory properties. In most cases egg white masks will clear up acne in just a few days.

Oatmeal has long been used to control the spread of acne, as well as to speed up the healing process. You want to use quick coking oatmeal which you have cooked and allowed to cool to room temp. To 2 cups of room temp. oatmeal add two well beaten eggs. Mix the mixture up very well. Apply to all of your face and neck and leave it on for 15 minutes. Wash it off with warm soapy water.

Home Cure For Acne

Acne and Eczema as well as Psoriasis have responded well to a paste made of the grain amaranth and placed on the effected area. Internally it can be made into a tea. Take two heaping teaspoons of the fresh seeds and cover them with boiling water. Simmer on low heat for for five to six minutes and add two to three amaaranth leaves and allow to steep for thirty to fourty minutes. Two cups per day will bring relief to a lot of skin problems.

Drinking Green Tea on a regular daily basis has also been used to clear up skin problems and it works very well. Look over to the left there for lots of great green tea products.

Make An astringent At Home

Blacheads or Whiteheads respond well to lemon juice , a substance that has wonderful astringnent properties. Rub lemon juice over the problem area before going to bed and wash your face with warm soapy water in the morning.

Apple Cider Vinegar will work wonders for acne also. Apply Apple Cider Vinegar to the problem areas with a cotton swab and wait 15 minutes before you wash your face with warm soapy water.

Cucumber Face Mask To Rid Yourself of Acne

Don't pay for a cucumber mask. Make your own by juicing a cucumer in a blender with as little water as possible to get it to puree. Put your cucumber puree in a bowl and strain away any exccess water. To the bowl add a well beaten egg and 1 heaping tablespoon of any brand mayonaise. Mix together very well. Apply it as a mask to your face and neck area. Leave it on 15 minutes and wash away with warm soapy water. If you have pimples or problem area on your back you can have some one apply it to that area and leave it on 15 minutes before you shower it away. You will find the acne will clear up in a few days.

Erasing The Past Problems with Acne

If you had a serious problem with acne in the past and it left scars on your face you can apply a paste made of one teaspoon of honey and one teaspoon of powdered nutmeg to the problem area. Rinse it away after 20 minutes. Repeat this 2-3 times a week and you will notice a remarkable differnce after a month or so.

One Interesting Thing To Take Note Of

If you have problem acne wash your pillow cases and sheets at least twice weekly to insure that you are not causing infections on your skin from dirty pillow cases or sheets where you may have previously rubbed bacteria off on the pillow cases or shhets. If you have real problem acne even go to a regular plan of washing your pillow cases and sheets three times weekly.

Soap and Water is Wonderful For Acne

Purchase a good brand of facial soap and wash your problem acne areas after each meal. Yes three times a day.
