If you’re going to prom, ya gotta have a handbag, right? That big pocketbook you take to school every day isn’t going to cut it. Yeah, it might be large enough to hold all your makeup, your billfold, your hairbrush, your cologne, and an extra set of clean clothes, but it would totally ruin your perfect prom look!

For prom, you’ll need an evening bag or clutch. It should be small and elegant – just large enough to hold a small compact, some lipstick, some tissue, a mini bottle of perfume, and your driver’s license or ID. It’s up to you whether you choose one with or without a strap. If you plan on carrying your bag with you to the dance floor, I strongly suggest one with a strap or handle.

If you’ve purchased dyeable satin shoes, you can find a similar bag and have it dyed with your shoes to ensure that they match perfectly. Many girls prefer the clear shoes to wear with their prom gown. A clear bag isn’t practical – you don’t want everyone to be able to see what you're carrying around, right?
