Best handbags and accessories for prom 2010
Many girls might choose not to carry a handbag to prom but many others will find it necessary for carrying the things they need. I think smaller handbags or clutches are nice ideas for the occasion. Here are some of my favorite handbags and other accessories currently being marketed for prom season.
Below is the J. Renee Delora Evening Bag in satin. It is available at Dillard's and priced at $99.
Evening Bag
Below is a Jessica McClintock evening bag with rhinestone accent. It is available at Macy's for $48. While it is pleather, not real leather, it seems to be a good deal.
Clutch
JcPenney does not seem to be an option for these type of bags. Bergdorf Goodman has some beautiful clutches but the prices are exorbitant and just not practical for high school students. Some of the clutches are upwards of $1000!
Keeping an evening bag or clutch in below the $100 price range, other stores that I would look at include Lord and Taylor. The clutch below is my favorite one in the store's current selection. It cost a bit more than $100 but is not bad priced at $128.
Mesh Detailing
Among the various stores, Spiegel has some of the best prices for nice quality clutches. The clutch below is featured on the Spiegel website. It was originally $44 and is currently on sale for $25. It is very cute!
Satin and Rhinestone
The weather had been quite beautiful lately but depending on where you are located, the evenings might still be quite chilly during the week of your prom. Many students also choose to attend prom after parties. Boats are a very popular venue for after parties. Whatever your circumstance, you might want to take along a scarf or shawl on the evening of your prom. The Sparkling Scarf from spiegel goes nicely with the satin and rhinestone clutch and is available in the following colors: black, purple or pewter. The cost is $99. The current special is buy 2 and save 20%.
