A Bit of History About Pea Coats

The other view is that the word ‘pea coat’ stemmed from the word pilot cloth which was a thick coarse cloth used in traditional navy. The name pilot cloth over a period of time was then replaced by the word “P Cloth”.

The cloth then came to be known as “P- Jacket” and over the years as Pea Coat. However it was only in 1900s that pea coats started to become an essential part of a woman’s winter wardrobe collection.

Are you also having payment issues there? It is really bad to know, lots of people are leaving that site just because of this reason because sometimes they pay you and at other times they don't. So you are always in a puzzle whether to continue their or not, i stopped writing after they held back one of my payments and the other three payments kept on just accumulating their until i redeemed.

That's really bad. I think I would also leave the site if I wasn't paid anymore. I hope I will get my next redemption. Some have no payment issues while others do have. I don't understand it.

Yeah, the payment issues arose, they didn't paid me four of my redemptions and i mailed them again and again but in vain, then i just left the site, there was no point in continuing with the site, i hope you are doing well there.

It's also nice to hear from you again. I'm so said to hear you are no longer writing for Bubblews. Did you have payment issues?

I would definitely wear the Royal Robbins coat. That is a cute coat! I used to have a similar one. But now I have a red wool coat. It's very bulky. A pea coat would be great for milder winter days here.

Thanks Janet, actually before writing this post even i wasn't aware of the 'actual term'. i always called them 'coats' ...never knew the difference. It is so nice to hear from you after a long time, since i no longer write at bubblews.

I don't have a pea coat, and didn't even know that's what they're called, but I love the look! I don't spend much on clothes. Maybe I can find one at a thrift store! Neat hub!
