Choosing The Right Designer Handbag

Updated on July 11, 2010

I am not a big shopper. I do not spend hours pouring over magazines to view the latest fashion from Milan or take much notice over how high we are wearing our hemlines this season or indeed if we are wearing skirts and dresses with hemlines at all. We could be wearing MC Hammer pants or multicoloured dungarees for all I know. No, it is definitely safe to say that I am not a slave to fashion if we are talking about clothes.

However I do have to admit to having a soft spot for one item of fashion. This is my secret little bit of self indulgent luxury. My idea of heaven is looking at a vast array of beautifully hand crafted designer handbags.

I have not yet been able to actually afford to buy a designer bag yet but it is on my wish list. I want to earn enough money online so that I can give myself a reward for all my hard work and effort. I want to purchase my very first piece of designer heaven.

What Designer Bag Should I Buy?

I have not yet been able decide conclusively what I want to buy but I have narrowed my choices down to the following designers:

  • Gucci
  • Chanel
  • Fendi
  • Prada

A Gucci clutch is very now and very sexy but I am not really sure if I am a clutch bag carrying kind of gal so this would most probably end up living in my wardrobe, never to see the light of day.

A Chanel bag is like owning your own work of art.  I would even consider investing in a pair of matching Chanel sunglasses so that I have the complete look right.

At the moment I am very keen on getting a Prada bag.  I love the range of colours that are available and think that they are tres chic. Prada just oozes glamour.

So if I want to afford my very own designer handbag, I know that I am going to have to start working really hard to get another step closer to achieving my goal.  I will be on the look out to see if I can get a designer bag online for a bargain price. I have heard that you can get a good deal on ebay but I want to make sure that I am getting not only a good deal but that the bag is the real thing.  Just like Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City – I do not want to end up with a fake Fendi.
