I LOVE this floral hair piece at Whimsically Wishing. The tutorial is easy to follow and she gives lots of tips and great ideas as well. I love the look of this and how it wraps around in the back.. beautiful!
Find the template to make this gorgeous hair accessory at Martha Stewart. There are actually a few templates in PDF format that is easy to print and use.. I am assuming this one is the larger peony flower. It is quite big but isn't it beautiful! It matches the dress perfect, too.. I urge you to check out all of Martha Stewarts DIY wedding accessories. She has a ton of really GREAT free tutorials there!
See here at Wedding By Color for the simple explanation on how this beautiful floral hair piece was made. She pretty much cut the flower off the stem, glued it onto a hair comb and added some pearls and things. Talk about SUPER SIMPLE!
The pic of the flower is beautiful but how about taking it one step further and adding some swarovski or flat back rhinestones to it.. how pretty would that be?
Check out the tutorial for this beautiful DIY wedding headband at La Belle Bride. This is an awesome blog where LOTS of great wedding ideas can be found.. The tutorial is great with tons of photo's.. very well written and easy to follow and understand.
As you see in the photo, it could be worn different ways. How about this fabulous DIY hairpin at wedlog. The instructions are very easy to follow with great illustrations. On this one, you actually make the flower, too. I love this one.. Be sure to check around Wedlog.. They have lots of other great wedding stuff.
Learn how to make this very pretty birdcage veil (plus TONS more!) at DIY Wedding! These have a sort of vintage look to them, I think. Very pretty and quite easy to make too.
Another GREAT birdcage veil tutorial can be found at Ruffled. I love the flower on this one but of course any flower would look great.
Keep in mind, you can use any flowers you want with your veil!
I hope I've been of some help to you in your efforts to save money on your wedding and also to find a great DIY hair piece that will fit your style and vision. Please keep in mind that on these projects where you are using an artificial
flower cut off the stem... You can use any
artificial flower you want besides the one shown in the tutorial. Look
for a flower/flowers that match your dress or wedding theme. If you are wanting something with a little more bling any of these finished pieces would be beautiful embellished with swarovski crystals or rhinestones-even the birdcage veils. Ultimately, it's up to you and what you love and want for your special day.
If you are interested in making some handmade flowers out of wedding type materials like Tulle,Satin, Organza etc.. (instead of artificial flowers cut off the stem), I have a hub tutorial here on DIY fabric flower hair accessories. You can also see my other fabric flower hub here for more great ideas. Pretty much any of the flowers can be made out of the material of your choice and glued to a comb or hair clip.
Good luck and Congrats on your upcoming wedding. I wish you many years of happiness together!
