DIY hairmask!

Updated on January 7, 2012

Try it out yourself!

This is a recipe for a homemade hair mask; it will give your hair a great shine and make it a lot softer. Hair masks can run for about 20 to 50 dollars this recipe could save you a fortune! So quit spending all your money on these mask and make your own that’s healthier, safer, and just better overall to use. I always try and make things homemade you save money and reduce all of the chemicals. Making things homemade is always the best way to go, I think everyone would want a recipe to be homemade instead of buying it from a store. With this recipe you know exactly what you are putting in your hair, so you won’t have to worry about the products those top brands use. Hair masks are a lot like leave in conditioners, I use a few different store bought ones, and I could not see the results I wanted. Once I started using this hair mask I saw results. My hair was softer, stronger, healthier, and added a lot more shine. In just one use of this mask you will see a change in your hair. If you’re sick of that dull dryness, then I highly suggest this. Don’t waste your time or money on products that are going to “do the trick” they are just trying to sell their products, not please you. Yes there are some great hair masks and conditioners out there, but I have yet to find one that work this good. If you overwork your hair every single day with the heat tools then why not try this out. When you overwork your hair you could damage it for life and it could possibly never grow longer than the length it is. Do you want that? Of course you don’t. So use this treatment at least once a week and continue to do this every week. After using this just once you will see results, and continuing to use it you will definitely see a big difference. If you don’t believe me try it out yourself, what do you have to lose? Exactly nothing J Try it out you won’t be disappointed! Keep reading for directions and ingredients have fun.

Ingredients:

For this easy, quick and simple recipe you only need four ingredients! Thats how great it is you barely have to do any work!

1 Large and Ripe Avocado

1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil

1 Tablespoon of Honey

1 Large Egg

1 Hair Tie

Directions:

These directions will only take you about 5 minutes for prep and 15 to 20 for letting the mask sit into your hair. It’s super quick but a little messy so don't wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty!

Step one. Cut open avocado down the center, open up and take out seed. Then put the entire avocado in a medium size bowl, don't put the skin in the bowl. It’s okay if you get some brown stuff in the bowl, you are not going to be eating this.

Step two. Add olive oil, honey, and egg (you will be only using the yolk not the whites.) Mix all three together.

Step three. Now that you have finished making your mask it’s time to apply! Start with a very small amount for roots and work your way down your hair. You want the majority of the mask to be on the ends of your hair that’s what needs the most moisture. The roots of your hair can get very oily very quickly so please be careful. Add the rest of the mask to the ends of your hair. Now you want to tie up your hair in a bun for 15 to 20 minutes.

Step four. Once it has been the 15 minutes you will want to hop in the shower and shampoo and condition as you normally would. Rinse in cold water for even more shine. After you finish this step blot your hair dry to reduce damage. You will see results after just one use! Remember to use this recipe once a week and continue to do so for as long as you want that softer, healthier hair!
