How to Prevent One Self from Sunburns?

A sunburn often occurs in summer months when skin is exposed to sun rays.It is better to prevent sunburns than think of treating it after one is affected. It is a burn which,we gets from ultraviolet radiations. It results in inflammation of the skin. Sunburn doubles the likelihood of developing malignant melanoma in certain cases. It is also noticed that chronic sun exposure causes premature wrinkling and aging of our skin and make it difficult to heal.

some home remedies to take care if you are affected by sunburns accidentally:-(use these for at least a week to get good results)

Suppress the sun burnt area of the body with ice pack as soon as you can catch hold of one ,apply chilled calamine lotion over it or you may plaster yellow mud if it is available at hand ,it gives soothing affect and make you relax .

Along with the above application ,have vitamin C for 10 days ,it helps to repair the tissues and change the condition of your skin making it supple and clean.

Apply yogurt or butter milk on the exposed area of your body which was affected by the sun rays ,it will help you to repair your tissues.

Remember, never to bleach the body area that has sunburns .

If you have sun tans on your hands and feet ,mix sunflower oil and lemon juice and rub the affected area ,leave it for 15 minutes and then wash it .

Keep your hands and feet dipped in a tub for some time which has water and lemon juice in it ,it removes sun tans.

Take 2 tomatoes puree mix with the puree of cucumber and squeeze a lemon.Apply this paste all over the tanned and sun burnt area of the skin. leave it to dry. repeat again. At least 3 times and let it dry thoroughly, then rinse off .gradually the sunburns will heal.

Grated potato and cucumber if applied to the affected area will reduce redness and inflammation caused by sunburn.Even application of sandal wood paste provides relief from the burning sensation.

Mix wheat flour or barley flour, milk, olive oil, , honey, and raw egg white to make a mixture. apply it for treating sunburn. It is the best home remedy for sunburn skin

Belive it or not take a bath with detergent like Rin or Tide. It help to reduce sunburns

Mix milk and honey, and turmeric and apply on the areas which have sunburns ,it helps.

You can even apply aloe Vera gel direct from the plant or cream based if you have sunburns

Apply rose water with cucumber juice with cotton ball on the areas which have sunburns ,face arms hands and any exposed area of the body ,it will rejuvenate your freshness and give you good feeling .

Massage your whole body with coconut oil before going out in the sun. It hepls to prevent sunburn .

fCompress cold tea bags to remove tanning from the sunburns

Boil lettuce or cabbage leaves make a paste and apply on the affected area to help skin to heal.

      Sean,thanks for your wonderful tips ,we usually have apple cider vinegar at home so can use it if by chance any one burns .

      Apple Cider Vinegar works well for this as well! It usually healed mine within a few days. Make sure you get Organic and one with the mother at the bottom of it.
