Fragrance Review: J'adore Dior by Christian Dior for Women Perfume

Christian Dior introduced the sophisticated J'adore Dior perfume in 2000. The eau de parfum scent is radiant, sensual, and long lasting. There is a deep mysterious feminine feature that draws you in. This fragrance celebrates the power of spontaneous emotion with a brilliant bouquet of orchids, the velvet touch of Damascus plum, and the mellowness of Amarante wood.

The scent of this fragrance evoke confidence with notes of mandarin, champaca flowers, ivy, african orchid, rose, violet, damascus plum, amaranth wood, and blackberry musk. Because the fragrance is sophisticated, either young or older women could wear this fragrance. Although it is classified as a daytime fragrance, I would definitely also wear this at night on a date. It has a universal appeal.

When you first spray the fragrance, you will smell a floral scent of roses. Throughout the day the rose scent will die down a bit and turn into a jasmine scent. Because the fragrance is so long lasting, you will not need to keep reapplying it to your skin. This scent is perfect for the winter or colder months. Retail is suggested at $115 for a 3.4 ounce bottle.

The teardrop shaped bottle was inspired by Monsieur Dior’s sketches of his classic “New Look” silhouette. One reviewer mentioned that the bottle reminded her of the Jetsons. I can see where she got that idea. It does look quite futuristic. However, the stacks of thin gold bands also remind me of a tribal-looking necklace worn around the elongated neck of distinguished women in the Kayan Lahwi tribe. Underneath the clear cap are the initials CD for Christian Dior.

Sizes: The bottles come in three different sizes, including: 1.35 oz., 1.7 oz, and a 3.4 oz. You can also find this fragrance in a beautifying body milk and creamy shower gel.

• Top Notes include jasmine and rose.
• MIddle Notes include tonka bean and vanilla.
• Base Notes include french labdanum, patchouli, and amber.

The scent of J'Adore Dior is meant to bring to mind gold and its hypnotizing effect. The top notes of fresh green rose, to the lush floral accord, and then the silky amber. The scent settles into your skin and smells of a fine jewel. This stunning fragrance achieved legendary status faster than any other fragrance created in the past ten years.

This is a beautiful harmony of sophisticated scent that any woman would love to have in her collection.

• Eau de Toilette - Somewhat less concentrated than Eau de Parfum. Lasts from four to six hours.
• Eau de Parfum - Longer lasting with increased oil content that stays on your skin. Lasts a minimum of eight hours.

Before deciding whether you like a perfume, or not, let it set on your skin. Why? The perfume will change over time, after you spray it on your skin, according to its specific composition. Notes are what make the perfume smell in a unique way.

The top notes will sing for about ten to fifteen minutes. You will smell the top notes first. The middle notes come in next and last approximately thirty minutes to an hour more. In the last stage of the fragrance, the base notes come in and will remain on your skin for the remainder of the day. Therefore, you should wear a perfume for about an hour before deciding whether you like it or not. This is when the base notes come in that you may not notice at the first spray.
