Choosing a full length coat.
The full length coat has always been a favourite piece of apparel with the ladies, however it is now fast becoming popular as a must have fashion item for men now too. With an ever increasing number of many popular famous style conscious men, fronting hot full length designer and high street coats, especially as winter draws ever closer and the weather gets ever colder. Full length coats are definitely something men as well as women should be seen in.
The full length coat is an item that many people frequently think about purchasing but often don't as they are not sure what styles are available or what will suit them.
There is also the common misconception that you either have to be tall or slim to successfully pull off wearing a full length coat, this is absolutely not the case, anyone can wear a full length coat and wear it well, it's just a matter of finding the right one for you.
Full length mac.
The mac is an absolute classic coat, a favourite of Audry Hepburn and more recently Kate Moss.
However it is not exclusively a feminine look, men can and do wear mac's and continue to look masculine and stylish as a result.
The mac is traditionally worn in beige however a mac in any colour is always stylish. The mac is a light coat, that is generally worn in autumn or spring.
Full length parker.
The Parker is a great casual winter coat, recently favoured by the British band oasis but associated mainly with the mods of the 60's.
This is a coat that would be well worth investing in and a great look worn by both men and women.
Full length trench coat.
Although this style of coat is worn mainly by men, it is fast becoming popular with women too. It's original design comes from the first world war, hence it's name. It is an ideal winter coat, as lets face it, if it was good enough for those in the trenches it is certainly going to be more then adequate as everyday wear and helping us deal with harsher weather.
This is a style of coat that has really held its own and will continue to be fashionable year in, year out and therefore a great investment piece.
Full length leather coats.
This is by far the most popular of all the long coats, it's not gender or age exclusive and a classic design will stand the test of time. A leather coat would be a wise investment and if well looked after, last a lifetime.
Full length wool coats.
Wool mixture coats are hardy warm and come in various cuts, designs and colours. I own a full length wool mixture coat myself, it is three years old and burgundy. I love it because it can be dressed up or down, worn from autumn through to spring and even though its three years old, is never out of fashion. When choosing a wool mixture coat, I would recommend looking for a soft textured rather then coarse textured material.
Full length fur coat.
The fur coat is synonymous with glamour and the long length fur coat is no exception. Fake fur is preferable to real fur, it looks better, will last longer, is ethical and is easier to clean.
if you are considering an animal print decide if you want it to be this years must have print or a classic look that can be brought out year in and year out.
Full length duffle coat.
The duffel coat was originally favoured and worn by the royal navy. Then famously associated with paddington bear, however it is a stand alone product in it's own right. Again a recurring favourite for designers and the high street year in and year out. Ideally your duffel coat wants to have toggles not buttons, a hood and a woolly textured inner lining. Don't shy away from the cord duffel coat this will hold its fashion credentials.
