Homemade facial mask keeps your skin healthy and beautiful. It draws out impurities from beneath the skin and cleans it. It can be applied once or twice a week. It helps to exfoliate the skin. It also helps remove the blackheads, pimples and whiteheads. Homemade facial mask nourishes the skin and stimulates the blood circulation. It can also act as a moisturizer. It will help to transform your face with gorgeous, glowing skin.

Homemade facial mask can be prepared using a variety of ingredients. Here are some of the recipes.

Cucumber Facial Mask

Chop cucumber into small pieces. Mix if well with oatmeal. Grind it well. Add some milk cream and make it into a fine paste. Apply it to your face if have dry skin. Substitute milk with yogurt if you have oily skin. Wash it off after 30 minutes.

Avocado Facial Mask

Mash avocado well with a fork. When it becomes soft and spongy, mix it well with a tablespoon of honey. Wash your face with soap or cleansing cream. Apply it to your face and wash it off after 30 minutes. Honey will kill off the germs. The mask helps to rejuvenate the skin and make it healthy. It cleans the skin pores. It is also a very good remedy for acne. Homemade facial mask using avocado is ideally suited for dry skin.

Banana Facial Mask

Bananas contain magnesium and potassium. It helps remove the dead skin and make the skin glow. Mash a ripe banana well and mix it with a tablespoon of honey. After washing the face, apply the paste. Wash it off after 20 minutes. The home made facial mask using banana and honey also acts as a moisturizer.

Turmeric Facial Mask

Turmeric has been used in India as a cosmetic for thousands of years. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antibacterial properties. It is a very good remedy for blackheads, acne and psoriasis.

Mix a teaspoon of gram flour, quarter teaspoon of turmeric powder, honey and milk. When you mix it well it becomes a paste. Wash your face thoroughly with soap and water. Apply the turmeric paste evenly on the skin. Wash it off after 30 minutes.

Almond Facial Mask

Homemade almond facial mask helps to keep your skin healthy, smooth and glowing. It is suitable for protecting the skin from pollution, sun and chemicals. It is also a very good remedy for acne and blackheads.

Grind a handful of almonds in a food processor. Add water and make it into a paste. Apply the paste evenly on the skin after washing your face. Wash it off after 15 minutes and dry it with a soft towel.

You cannot be sure about ingredients used in over the counter products. Some of them may not be suitable for your skin. They could also be quite expensive. You can make the mask yourself by mixing the ingredients that are suitable for your skin.
