Leading Lady Bras, Large Band, Small Cup

Updated on November 18, 2009

It's always challenging to find a bra that fits if you happen to be on either end of the fitting spectrum, that is if you require a large cup size and small band size, or if you happen to require a large band size and a small cup size. However readers who require a large band size and a small cup size may just find a lingerie home with Leading Lady.

Many thanks go to a reader for the discovery of these lightly padded Leading Lady brand brassieres, which come in sizes up to 50 A. That's right, 50 A. How is that for a relief? The reader also noted that they are currently available on the JC Penny website, which may be the better option to real life shopping if you are really quite desperate to find a bra that fits. This is apparently an online exclusive, so you won't be able to find this product in stores.

The only caveat I will make for these bras is that because you are dealing with an online only product, you may have trouble choosing the correct size. As more than one reviewer has pointed out in the reviews,

"Just like the other reviewer I was disappointed when I tried this bra on. The sizing is WAY OFF. I wear a 44DD and this bra in my size was more like a 46DDD. The band was very loose on the smallest setting and the cups puckered. I have never had this happen with a bra in my size.”

So keep in mind that even if you require an A cup, it may be more like a B cup, I couldn't comment on that personally, but be prepared to have to return the bra if it does not fit you. Of course, that's a problem you'll always run into with online shopping. Bra manufacturers are notorious for playing fast and loose with bra sizing, which is why most women and men who wear bras will try on bras in store before taking them home.

If you do find the right size, the reviews are generally promising, and most wearers seemed very happy to find a plus size bra that had light, feminine styling. As anyone who has ever tried to purchase a bra for a larger cup size or a larger band size knows, style tends to go out the window as sizes increase. Though these brassieres are certainly plain, they are comfortable, light and absolutely perfect for the gentleman or lady who prefers that others not be able to easily discern that a brassiere is being worn.
