Lemon and honey face mask

Updated on April 11, 2013

All natural face mask

You don't have to go to the spa to give your a skin a little sparkle. At home face masks make having beautiful glowing skin much easier for those of us on a tight schedule. You don't have to go out to the store and buy special ingredients. These things are most likely already in your kitchen.

Lemons
Lemons
Organic honey
Organic honey

How to make the face mask

What you will need:

  • One tablespoon of lemon juice squeezed or from the bottle both work equally well
  • One tablespoon of honey any kind works
  • A paint brush to apply the mask you can use your fingers but using an applicator is less messy
  • A warm washcloth to remove the the mask

what to do

Once you have everything you need mix the lemon juice and the honey together in a small bowl. Rinse your face first then pat dry. Your skin can absorb the vitamins in the mixture better when your face is clean. Then take the paint brush and apply the mixture to your face. Leave the mask on for ten to fifteen minutes. Don't wait for the mask to harden it stays sticky. To remove the mask take the warm wash cloth and gently wipe it off.

Why this mask work so well

Using this mask a couple times a week really helps clear up your skin. Lemon juice is high in acidity which kills bacteria that helps with acne. Lemons are packed with vitamins that are good for your skin. Honey has lots of enzymes that are like natural antibiotics. Honey is easily absorbed by the skin and has lots of antioxidants. Both honey and lemons can reverse skin damage caused by the sun. This is why the results from this face mask are so amazing. I got fast results with using this mask. Your skin will automatically feel cleaner and look more radiant.

Lemons can lighten the color of your skin and the combination of the lemon and honey are good at evening out tones but I would talk to a doctor before doing anything just in case the patches are a symptom of something else.

      Hi Brittanie!

I love home made remedy for skin,as this have no side effect compare to chemicals that are used in face wash.

How about adding a pinch of turmeric in that mask that will enhance the value of mask. As turmeric also acts like antibiotic, it also have a property of bleach that helps lighten the skin and leave skin smooth and flawless.

As lemon is acidic in nature so I recommend not to use it daily instead it can be apply in alternate days, but I don't know, can you clarify my doubt.

Well I guess L&H (lemon&honey) face mask works better than H&C (honey& cinnamon) mask for combination skin... Been suffering with the "Worst" hormonal acne for 2weeks in my jawline & L&H regimen helps me a lot..& hopefully it will help to lighthen my blemishes & acne scars too... though I still have numbers of active acnes on my chin area does anybody knows if its safe to practice this routine EveryNight, like before bedtime?

Drippy is right... but the fun part is you can just lick it right off! I use cold processed honey from a local source and organic lemons. This is a great mask for any type of skin. Great job!

I am glad you liked it this is my favorite face mask. Yeah it can be a little drippy but if you apply just a thin amount then it wont drip as much. You can also add more honey to thicken it up a bit.

I tried it and it left my face SO smooth!! After only 1 use. But is the mixture supposed to be a bit drippy when you brush it over your face?
