If you are anything like me , then your hair goes through some serious day to day drama! Blow drying, flat ironing, curling , coloring, hair spray, the list goes on and on. Most of us use at least one of those items a day on our poor locks. They need a serious break!

Here of some of my fave ways to "De-stress Your Tresses"! They are tried and true. Easy and inexpensive! You will be amazed at the difference some of these hair remedies can make!

So keep reading to find out how to get you hair pantene commercial worthy.

Mayonnaise Mask

Sounds gross but soooo worth a shot! I use this at least once every summer. It is an extreme deep conditioner!

You will need:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • plastic gloves (optional)
  • container to mix ingredients in
  • towel

So, mix all the ingredients together in container. The honey does make it smell a little more pleasant an its not sticky like I imagined it would be! Then, I put on gloves to apply to hair but you don't have to. Apply the whole amount to your hair until it is fully covered. Next , wrap it up in a towel and wait 15/25 min. After that you can wash as usual. My hair is always super silky after this "mask"! Try it!!

Citrus Olive Oil Rinse

I color my hair ALL THE TIME! I need something that I can use frequently to deep condition my hair that doesn't take a lot of time. This is my go to concoction! It works wonders and I use it in the shower, so it very convenient.

You will need:

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • Spray bottle( I use an old pump hair spray bottle

Mix the olive oil and lemon juice in the spray bottle. That's it! The olive oil is super nourishing and the lemon juice real adds some serious shine! After you shampoo, instead of conditioning, spray hair thoroughly with the mixture. Let it set for 60 seconds then rinse. If you have very dry hair then you can use this with you conditioner for extra soft locks. This will become a fave!

Beer

It's one of my preferred forms of de stressing as well. I know tons of people that have heard of this one but NEVER have tried it! Well you should. You really don't know what you hair is missing. Its not so much on the condition , but it adds shine that you just cant beat! If you have naturally oily hair, then this is a must try!

You will need:

  • Beer of choice

You use this in the shower before you shampoo. I always use this and then a conditioner, but feel free ti use both!

Coconut Oil

My mom turned me onto this and I am ever so thankful. This is an INTENSE conditioner. I use this after I color my hair and I must say I have a lot less dead ends since I started using this. And it smells AMAZING! Plus it is of course all natural.

You will need:

  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup coconut oil (I use the kind from Walgreen's)

Apply it generously to hair. Its goes on very easy and its not messy as you might think. If you have extremely dry or color damaged hair then you will be hooked!

All Day Shiny Spray

This is great if you have color treated hair that dulls out easy. I have dark hair that can look dingy after all the products I use, so this is something that I like to keep on hand. It great for a quick fix for a night out as well. Gets the shine on.

You will need:

  • Spray bottle
  • 1 vitmain e gel cap
  • 1 vitamin a gel cap
  • 1/4 cup witch hazel
  • 1 tblspn lemon juice

Add witch hazel and lemon juice to sparay bottle. Then squirt in the vitamin a & e. Shake it up and your good to go! I keep some in my bathroom. You never know when you need to add a little life to you locks.
