In the fashion world, the most important week is probably fashion week in Paris, France. There you tend to find the 'trendiest of folk,' wearing elaborate clothing and make- up.

Designers are allowed to display their latest collection of art, as I wouldn't classify the average design displayed in Paris during Fashion Week as mundane daily wear. The designers have beautiful models walk their dresses and outfits up and down the catwalk, or runway, as the highlight of the week.

Fashion week in Paris tends to occur twice a year, in spring and then again in the fall season. The fall fashion week is held between January and March, while the spring fashion week is held between September and November.

The reason for the particular season swaps is so that by displaying fancy- designer collection, other designers can get the feel for the fashion trends for the upcoming season early. Plus, it allows the press to a hold of the upcoming trends so to carry the word outwards. And, retailers can start getting their purchases in order for the season fashion.

This particular fashion show isn't one for the normal outfit or work attire. I think one would probably get picked on if you went to the mall in one of these outfits.

Although, yes they are gorgeous dresses with very elaborate make- up worn by beautiful women, it's just not the every day attire.

The main purpose, I believe, of fashion week, is to set the trends for the upcoming fashion season. Because it allows the press and retailers time to get their books and stories in order, the average person tends to have plenty of time to see the new trends that they need to buy for.

I'm not much into fashion trends, but I do know many people who watch for current trends in fashion. What these, usually teenagers, don't realize is that the trends are set by high- quality fashion designers during fashion week.
