Perfect Pedi

Updated on September 2, 2014

Fantastic feet

I love flip flops and cute summer sandals just as much as the next girl! But cracked heels and hang nails are the opposite of cute! They make me run for my socks and sneakers! I want to have soft, smooth feet that don't have to hide.

And yes, who wouldn't love to just walk into a spa and get a pedicure once a week? Well, my pocketbook for one. They can be pricey. $35,$65, and up depending on where you go! Do that once a week and it can definitely put a dent in the budget. Plus, as relaxing as it might be, I don't really have the time either. An hour or longer just to fix my feet doesn't squeeze into my busy week.

So, I came up with what I like to call the "Perfect Pedi"! It quick and easy. You can use this at home and its so inexpensive! Most people will have these items at home already. But most importantly, IT WORKS! That is why its perfect.

How it works

There are two parts to this pedicure. The soak if the first. It gets the skin on you feet soft and basically preps them for the scrub. The second part, the scrub, gets rid of all of the dead skin and leaves your feet so smooth and beautiful. Let's get started!

What you will need

For the soak

  • Large bowl/basin (large enough to soak your feet)
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1/2 cup milk

Mix all ingredients in bowl/basin and sit aside.

For the scrub

  • small mixing bowl
  • 1/2 cup epsom salt
  • 1 tblspn lemon juice
  • 3 tblspn honey
  • pumice stone
  • towel

Mix all ingredients in the mixing bowl and set aside.

First we are going to to soak the tootsies in the water and milk mixture. This softens all the dead skin and makes it easy to remove.

Now we are going to use the scrub! This is my fave. It makes your feet super soft & smooth. The pumice stone alone can help with the rough areas , but use it with this scrub and you will be AMAZED at the difference.

Take one foot out of the soak at at time. Cover entire foot with the scrub. Then take the pumice stone and lightly rub over you foot. Spend a little extra time on the rough areas. Then place foot back in the soak to rinse and repeat process with next foot. This shouldn't take more then 5 min. per foot! So fast and easy. Then just pat dry with a towel.

Last I like to use cocoa butter lotion to finish it off. It smells good and is very moisturizing. You can use any lotion of your choice. I would recommend that you stay away from any lotions with alcohol. They can be drying and that kind of defeats the purpose.

Now that your feet are totally spa worthy, go spend some of that cash you saved by doing this at home on a pair of new summer shoes to show off your "Perfect Pedi"!!
