Wedding bells, wedding bells. Of course, it is without a doubt that every hardworking man will want to lavish their lovely ladies with the best that they can – notably, with the best that they can actually afford. And when the right time comes, choosing the finest of all engagement rings may become a little stressful, set aside the wedding rings that are expected to be bought then next right after the big ‘yes’, and before the ‘I do’s’.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend is what they always say, and being one, I may just have to agree. What is not to love when you are given something as valuable as diamonds by someone you pretty much adore, right? Let’s face it, living in this material world of ours, everyone just wanted to get a hand of everything desirably of significance and worth. I mean, forget about the basics. We are pertaining to luxuries here. One would be regarded a liar if not at least once in your life have you not thought of acquiring something from the opulent side. So let us talk about this jewelry suited for a lifelong union, shall we?

Let Your Diamonds Sit On The Right Throne

We have started talking about diamonds earlier and yes, they are undeniably and very dazzlingly precious. Since the beginning of its discovery, diamonds have long since been considered to be an item of desire. Imagine getting a hold of them brilliant little specks. But here is the thing, where would you rather have them crafted with? Most people would prefer to go for gold or titanium. However, in all candor, it will never get any better than Platinum.

Platinum For A Happily (For)Ever After

Platinum is known to be more precious than gold and is remarkably elegant looking to boot. Due to its exceptionally scintillating facet, it is striking enough without its need of being polished regularly. Believe it or not, jewelry experts even suggest that Platinum should not be polished at all! As it ages, it develops a patina of wear. However, there is nothing to worry about this unique attribute of Platinum as it is even considered to be something noteworthy by most. Also, there is not a need for a Rhodium plate for Platinum in order for it to retain its whiteness like how a White Gold piece needs one regularly - it will never lose its whiteness. Though it is indeed double the price of gold or more, one can never go wrong with a Platinum purchase as it will be worth every cent spent I tell you – a sure way to impress the woman of your dreams if I may say so myself. It is sixty times as uncommon as Gold and its rarity can only be an epitome of your lady’s exceptional uniqueness.

And in view of the fact that it is expected to last a lifetime – not up for corrosion and wearing – a Platinum ring is very ideal for an engagement and wedding ring as it most probably sums up the whole idea of marriage – till deaths do you both part, and so will the ring too - sure way to leave a legacy of lasting love.

Better Than Your Average Gold

Platinum is known to be more precious than gold and is remarkably elegant looking to boot. Believe it or not, jewelry experts even suggest that Platinum should not be polished at all! As it ages, it develops a patina of wear. Fortunately, Dubai has enough shops that offer such valuable metal pieces, and both local and international artisans could surely help you out in choosing the right design and cut for a loved one. Unearthing a bijouterie made from such material aside from wedding and engagement rings may turn out to be a bit of a hitch though, because according to craftsmen, it is markedly too valuable to just be used as an ordinary trinket. So ideally, it is infrequent to come across Platinum bracelets, necklaces and earrings to name a few – sad but true.

Another astounding news is, celebrities are now opting to choose Platinum over any other material. They may have heard of its greatness of lasting almost forever or maybe, just merely the fact that such beauty is too irrefutable to just ignore. Durability is one factor according to jewelry and style expert Michael O’Connor that sets this metal to number one spot for a potential engagement ring. With this said, it only places Titanium and White Gold to succeeding positions on the list. Diamonds require something that could hold them securely in place and sorry to say, gold can only be too malleable that it isn’t close to impossible that it will eventually lose hold of its stones one way or another in the long run. Platinum though, does it way better and can even retain designs longer than likely as it has a more stable property in terms of strength.

Famous People Dig It

Kate Middleton’s wedding ring from Prince William happens to be Platinum and so does Kate Hudson’s. The list goes on and on for big names proposing with the aid of this wonderful find – count Beyonce Knowles and Jennifer Hudson in too. So why not join the craze? There is nothing greater than letting your woman go on feeling like a celebrity flaunting that ravishing thing around her finger thanks to you.

So How Much Is One Platinum Ring?

If you really want to make an impression to your soon to be wife with the engagement ring you are getting her, it is suggested you get her one from a range of styles from the striking collection of De Beers Platinum, Tiffany and Co. and Harry Winston. Since then, these shops have been offering impressive cuts of diamonds which are unique and distinct that a person with a fine eye for jewelries can easily tell that they are indeed, well crafted. Though take note that these pretty little pieces do not come in cheap. One band appears to be priced from AED 10,000 to be the cheapest, to a whopping AED 7,000,000.00! But rest assured, everything will always be well worth the price.

So drag yourself to that jewelry shop and take all the time you need in choosing the right piece. Surely it will not be that hard if you really know what you are trying to obtain. After which, once you have decided, I believe you will be all set to that proposal of a lifetime. With that astonishing ring in hand and you down on one knee, I doubt your lady will ever have the courage to even come out with a very dire “No”. For all we know, she might have already been dreaming of when that lovely day will come. Now I dare you, if you really like it, then come on put a ring on it – a Platinum one.

Though it is technically possible to set a diamond on a titanium ring, it will not be the most practical idea. Titanium as a material cannot be soldered (according to what I've learned in Engineering). Therefore, crafting it into something that will be able to substantially hold diamonds in place will just about challenge your artisan, and also cost you much for labor. :)

Platinum is very expensive. One friend of mine wanted a platinum wedding set when she got engaged, and her fiancé told her that he had been planning to buy her a one-carat engagement ring. She agreed to settle for a 3/4 carat diamond so the platinum bands would fit into his budget. My granddaughter and her fiancé chose titanium bands with no diamonds because because of their work. They didn't want to remove the bands whenever they were working. I have never seen a diamond set in titanium. Do they do that?

      Very good information. Voted up
