RFID Block Wallets to Secure Your Banking Details

Updated on November 19, 2016

Have you ever heard about this yet? What? The wallet? No. This “RFID block” thing. Well, if it is your first time to hear about it then we are just the same. I have no idea about what this feature is and look at what the internet says. It can actually secure your banking details and could prevent identity theft! That was a bit huge, I think.. for a wallet.

You know the first thing that came out of my mind when I read it? I was just wow! Is there some security chip inside it or some kind of an electronic device to protect your card details while in it? Come on and let us learn what this is and how it is essential for a slim wallet or just any wallet.

What is RFID Block?

RFID is short for Radio Frequency Identification (now I know..). This is a chip inserted in cards or passport so that your details can be read by a scanner even if it is inside your pocket (What?). It is a bit surprising right? I have seen it in movies and didn’t know it is actually happening or I am just too late for the news. With RFID, someone (with a really naughty mind) could invent a scanner which is not impossible and steal your identity without your permission. Blame the technology, no, I mean just read on and see how you can prevent this thing from happening just with a slim wallet.

A Small Wallet with an RFID Block is One Solution

Because we store our money, credit cards, debit cards and other important identification cards in our wallets, companies like Pure Sir made things possible to block identity theft through their RFID block slim wallet. This is just a small wallet designed for men. It has a money clip for easier storage and retrieval of paper bills and has three card slots. And the best thing about it is that it has an RFID block that is proven effective to prevent RFID scanners from reading personal details unless you wanted to.

Identity theft has been a common crime nowadays. They use any ID cards or just simply hack your personal accounts online to do this. You cannot actually predict when something like this will happen to any of us. People are getting more and more intelligent and the worst and saddest thing about this is that not all intelligent people use their talents in a GOOD way.

Other RFID Block Solution

Aside from a small wallet, some RFID block solution can be in a form of blocking sleeves or pouches. Not all products that comes out in the market is effective, remember this. In order to put your money into something that will really help you, do an extensive research. Compare prices but do not just go for the cheapest. For example, you are searching for a slim wallet (probably because you are that person who likes small things to fit in your pants, polo or jacket) then check for product reviews. Another thing to consider is the durability of the materials used and of course, if it is really effective to block RFID scanners from unwanted devices.
