"Rumors are the oldest form of mass media"

Over the past few weeks it has been reported that Anna Wintour is leaving VOGUE magazine after numerous successful years of being editor-in-chief of the prominent fashion magazine.

The Daily Mail reported with the headline, "Fashion's 'ice queen' dethroned? Anna Wintour is set to 'leave her job as Vogue Editor-in-Chief this summer'- after 30 YEARS at the helm"

The British tabloid, The Mirror, reported with the headline, "Is Anna Wintour leaving Vogue Magazine? The US editor is rumoured to be stepping down after 30 years."

The original rumor seems to have come from The New York Post's Page Six, where multiple inside sources had claimed that the Editor-in-Chief would be stepping down and leaving the magazine after her daughter's wedding in July this year.

The New York Post's Page Six also claimed in the same article that when they reached out to Condé Nast, Vogue magazine's publisher, their representatives had denied the rumor.

Then within the past few days there's been articles flooding the internet to report that the rumor isn't true.

Refinery29 reported, "If there's "zero truth" to any rumor circulating the industry at the moment, it's that Anna Wintour is leaving VOGUE. At least, that's what a Condé Nast rep told us when we reached out for a comment.."

The Cut headlined their article with "Vogue Says There's 'Zero Truth' to Rumor That Anna Wintour Is Out at Condé Nast"

The Cut continued their article with saying, "Rumors are swirling that Anna Wintour, whose influence in the fashion and publishing worlds cannot be overstated, could be on her way out at Condé Nast. According to a Vogue representative, though, Wintour isn’t going anywhere. "There’s zero truth to the story,” the spokesperson told the Cut. Earlier today, Condé Nast also denied that Wintour was leaving the company."

So there you have it! It appears that the rumors of Anna Wintour leaving Vogue and the magazine's publisher, Condé Nast, are indeed untrue. It looks like Anna Wintour will be around for a long time. Here's to another year - and possibly years - of having such an influential and iconic journalist ad business woman in both the fashion and the journalism industry!
