Scientically proven beauty ingestibles: NeoCell
NeoCell
NeoCell dietary supplements boost skin, hair, nails, bones
French philosopher Brillat-Savarin said, "Tell me what you eat and I'll tell you what you are." Well, maybe not so fast! The fact is, some nutrients are hard to digest or absorb. That means, even though you believe you're being fastidious in eating a fresh, well-balanced diet -- your body may not be seeing the effects.
Fortunately, there are supplements that not only aid your bodily functions of growth, repair and healing, but also enhance the measures you're already taking by eating well and exercising. There's now NeoCell to the rescue! I was happy to be hosted to experience the brand.
You can buy NeoCell products at such retailers as Whole Foods, Sam's Club, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe and other places nationally. For every product sold, NeoCell will donate 25 cents to Vitamin Angels, allowing them to reach one at-risk child with lifesaving vitamins for one year.
Super Collagen + C
Talk to anyone on any sort of restrictive diet and it's clear that most folks don't really understand the different components of protein and how they work. They're not aware of the important benefits they're missing! Super Collagen + C incorporates "Types 1 and 3", which is 90% of the body's total collagen supply, according to the company. This product is made up of 19 amino acids -- precursors to protein -- and is a great source of glycine, proline, alanine and hydroxyproline.
Your ability to produce collagen generally decreases at a rate of 1.5% per year after the age of 25. This nutrient benefits the skin, hair, nails, ligaments, tendons, bones and muscles. Taking this supplement assists in reversing such maladies as:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Inelastic skin
- Weak, broken, split and damaged nail beds
- Overly fine hair, hair loss
- Lack of lean muscle
They recommend that you take a total of 6 tablets a day (or their other form, powder) on an empty stomach, waiting 30 minutes before eating. They do note that there are enhanced effects if combined with their hyaluronic products. It's a bit of a beauty commitment, but worth it. I experienced some chronic issues subside, such as soft toenails from winter shoes. That may seem like small potatoes, until you've had nails tear off and prevent you from working out or hiking!
Hyaluronic Acid Blueberry Liquid
This new, innovative product is sure to up-end the dietary supplement category. Hyaluronic acid is already used in many skin care products, due to its ability to attract moisture and retain it. But now, there's a way to take it internally, with Vitamin C and other antioxidants. This ensures hydration and protection for skin, joints and eyes.
This liquid is considered to be the most bio-available form of hyaluronic acid. It holds 1,000 times its weight in water for cushioning of joints, according to the company's research. Their findings have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
Packaged in dark glass, its ingredients include pomegranate, blueberry, cranberry and elderberry concentrates, as well as green tea. It's lightly sweetened with agave nectar. You can take it -- the daily recommended dose is 1 tbs. -- alone or with water or juice. I tried it on its own at first: it's tangy and tastes like natural wild blueberries. It was also great mixed with flavored seltzer water and different juices.
I personally experienced relief of dry winter skin, dehydrated nails, brittle hair and uncomfortable joints.
