Simple and Easy Ways to Get Good Looking Skin

What Skin Type Are You?

Is it dry for a while after cleaning it?


Use a small amount of moisturizer around the dry areas, then a little bit less in all other areas.

Other factors that could impact the moisture levels of your face include the humidity level of your home or the location of where you are residing.

People are impacted differently depending on the climate of where they are.

It is extra oily?

You may need to cleanse it more often to remove the oil and prevent it from building up or collecting other debris, particles, or clogging pores.

Your Skin Care Routine

This is what your skin care routine, on a basic level, should look like.

Daily Skin Care Routine:

Wash your skin twice a day - soon after you wake up and towards the end of your night. Wash for at least 20 to 30 seconds, and rinse for just as long.
Dry your face well with a clean cloth.
Apply a small amount of moisturizer.
Do not touch your skin with dirty objects.
Facial hair should be removed with clean and sanitary tools, and any facial hair remaining should be cleansed and maintained.

Weekly Routine:

Attempt to gently exfoliate your skin on a daily basis. At least once a day use a clean cloth, sponge, or other exfoliate and gently, without applying pressure, rub the skin.

A couple times a week you should exfoliate slightly more with using a tool (brush or cloth), or facial exfoliating wash. Never rub too hard but gently wash your face for at least 20 seconds with the exfoliating device or cleanser.

Steam your face or sweat to help remove impurities in the pores and make them less noticeable. Place your face, carefully, over a pot of boiling water or other steam creator, and allow yourself to sweat and your pores open. Always dry with a clean cloth if you do this.

Face Washing Tools

The #1 thing you need to make sure of is that your cleansing tool is clean!

If you're using an old washcloth that's been hanging in your shower for a while, it could be dirty itself, or contain bacteria that makes your skin issues worse. Make sure to clean your cleaning tools well and often.



Good Face Washing Tools:

Soft Facial Brush:

The best tool to wash your face is a very soft brush. With this it will lather the soap or cleansing product the best, it will gently scrub the dirt, oil, and dead skin, it will reach into the pores.
Make sure your clean the brush and often. Try to allow it to dry between cleanings.

Wash Cloth:
This is the most common face washing tool and it works well with the exception of getting into the pores. Although it does, it's not as effective as a micro cleansing brush. It is useful for cleaning oil and dirt, and gently exfoliating.

Body Scrub:
A lot of people use the same body scrub for their face as they do with their bodies. The benefits of using a body scrub is they they can be effective at exfoliating and removing dirt and grime. The problems is that they're not as effective as other tools with exfoliating, and you can be putting your more harsher body wash onto your face.
These really should only be used in and emergency if you have nothing else at your disposal.

Make Sure You Rinse!

A lot of what causes pore build up and skin problems is not properly rinsing. You should take close to as much time rinsing your face as you do washing it.

Use a soft brush or wash cloth as you rinse to make sure your get everything off.


Wrinkles!

There are some things that definitely help with reducing wrinkles.

- stay out of the sun or apply a small amount of protective UV block
- Keep hydrated with a lot of water, less sugar
- protein and vitamin intake, and an overall healthy diet help tremendously with wrinkles and aging
- less stress! Stress makes everyone look tired and older so the better you can maintain your stress levels, the better your skin and complexion will look
- sleep. The better and more sleep you get, the better you will look physically.
- your environment. Everyone lives in different sorts of environments whether it be a bustling city, a farm, a mountainous area, near an ocean .. etc. Learning how your current environment might impact your skin and health would help you to figure out what steps you could take to prevent the negative effects.

Food That's Good for Skin

There are several vitamins and minerals that are good for your skin.One that is very good for skin and hair is Biotin. Others are Vitamin C and E. Consider looking into these as supplements if they're not being met in your diet.

Fish, avocados, seeds (i.e. sunflower seeds), and walnuts have "good fats" that really help with your health as well as your skin appearance.

Berries are extremely beneficial and have a lower sugar volume than many other fruits, surprisingly. Blueberries are especially detoxing and great for the skin.

Simple Tips for Clear Skin

- If you wouldn't put it in your mouth, don't put in on your face. If you think something is too dirty to put in your mouth, you should never use it to cleanse your skin.

- CHANGE YOUR PILLOW CASE! - this is such a simple fix that is so often overlooked. Also, for those that don't use a pillow case .... invest in several of them now! Most people are not mindful of the place they rest their head and face for hours every day. Our face produces oils, sebum, dust collects in the room... and we rub out faces on that all night long. If you use it again the next night, you have all of the previous night's oil accumulated on it already. Now think of doing that over several nights.


- Don't wear make-up for long periods of time. Many make-up products contain substances that can be harmful to your skin when worn for long periods of time.
If you are able to throughout the days you need to keep your makeup on, cleanse your make-up in areas and reapply it with a clean, fresh coat.


- Do not over-moisturize. Your face is not your body and needs much less moisturizer. Dab is on your finger and use it sparingly.

- Don't use old make-up or skin products. Make sure you are not using old or expired products. On most skin care and makeup products there is a small symbol on the back. It features a jar-looking object with the lid lifted, and a number inside. The number is typically something like "6" which mean six months, "24" which means twenty four months, or something similar. If the product has been opened for longer than this date, it has expired.

- Keep your hair and hands out of your face. If you have long hair, tie it back at night or as often as you can to prevent it from rubbing on your face.

- Drink water and eat healthily - You've heard it a million times but drinking water keeps us hydrated and cleans our systems. Avoid sugars, including white rices, breads, and pastas, whenever possible. They should be considered a treat. Proteins and vitamins are what make us look our best. The food we eat and the drinks we drink can really show in our faces.

- Exercise and Immune Boosting - Exercising, even a little bit, helps our immunity, metabolism, and so many other things.

- Stay out of the Sun - As you may have heard, the sun's rays are damaging and can cause a lot of issues with your skin and complexion, including wrinkles. Use a high quality facial sunscreen while you are outdoors.

- Quality Products Make a Difference - We all have our budgets and some of us couldn't dream of spending $30 on a face wash, while some thing $250 is a good deal if it lasts the month.
Truth is, the better quality products typically cost a bit more simply because the ingredients are better, they may be more difficult to acquire, and are just more expensive for the producer.
The higher prices, when you get into the really expensive products, comes from actual scientific research, product testing, acquiring of products, as well as simple marketing.

Sometimes you can make a homemade product that is better for your skin than some expensive store-bought product that has a 15-minutes-of-fame person's name on it.

Look into DIY masks with natural ingredients - they can be inexpensive, effective alternatives to expensive store masks that contain chemicals and preservatives.

There are some things that no amount of treatment can cure, and mostly that has to do with hormones and other things regulated within our body that require medication and/or diet adjustments that you may not be able to figure out on your own.

If you have tried all of the above tips and still find that you cannot control certain conditions, you should speak with a doctor or attempt to obtain a referral to a dermatologist.

You may have a hormone imbalance, a deficit in a certain vitamin, or a different ailment that could be causing your acne or skin condition.
