What is a Subscription Box?

I don’t know if it is a proven fact but it is certainly a popular claim that men do not like to shop. Most of us shop out of necessity but some of us might occasionally shop for vanity. Most men claim they don’t care about style but if you observe them closely you will notice that every man has a unique style. A more proper claim would be that most men don’t care to copy the way other men stay trendy.

Several years ago a new trend popped up that makes it very easy for men to acquire stuff without actually having to go shopping for it. Subscription boxes are an easy, discrete, way for men to not only shop but to discover new products that they probably would never notice.

Subscription boxes vary by company but in general, they offer a sampling of items that the consumer might be interested in. It could be new clothes, tech items, food items, grooming items, or items that cater to a unique interest. While there are plenty of gender specific subscription box offering, this article is going to focus on those for men.

Just below, I have assembled 16 subscription boxes for men that cater to various styles, personalities, and hobbies. These are subscriptions that men purchase for themselves but also make great gift ideas for men that are difficult to shop for. Each brief description will include a non-affiliate link to the company website.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, subscription boxes for men are a great way to investigate new product lines without investing a fortune. You get to examine and experience these products in your own home without being pressured by in-store salespeople. You may discover items you would have never thought of purchasing plus there is the added excitement of opening a mystery box to see what treasures you can un-box.

While most of the items you receive will be samples or just enough to allow you to make an informed judgment or impression, the ultimate goal is for manufacturers to convert you to life-long customers so be prepared to receive quality products at a fraction of their retail prices.
