Save on Summer Clothing for Men

Summer styles aren’t only made for women. There are some summer essentials made just for men, too. Soft cotton shirts, snapback caps, and slip-on Converse sneakers, to name several. This is a great time to stock up, too, as prices are already going down as it’s time for summer sales. So men, if you haven’t already bought some cool styles for summer, there is no better time than now. There is still time to enjoy some new duds while making sure you’re ready for next summer, too.

One place looking to unload some of its summer inventory is Nordstrom. This store has made a name for itself over the years with its high quality clothing, accessories, and cosmetics that make it able to compete with stores like Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales. And did I mention Saks Fifth Avenue? Don’t let those names drive you away, though, as Nordstrom’s sales and online coupon codes make their styles affordable for the average shopper. Let’s look at some of their deals for men’s summer styles.

2. Men's Shorts

A great summer shirt is even better paired with the perfect pair of shorts. From light-weight polyester work out shorts to dressy woven twill shorts, Nordstrom has quite a selection. Their shorts, like their shirts, come in a variety of colors. Their striped shorts are fun and perfect for fun in the sun. (Pardon the cliché.)

1. Men's Shirts

Most men I know love no-fuss, T-shirts with a soft cotton blend. “The Rail” is a v-neck t-shirt made to fit. It comes in about 20 different colors—no joke, and is just over 20 bucks. Buying 2 gets you a hefty discount at 2 for $30. Cool tank tops are plentiful right now, too. For something dressier, check out their button-up short-sleeved shirts for 50% off the regular price, which leaves them under $30. Soft, cotton shirts in solid and plaids are perfect for summer and can be worn year round under a jacket or sweater.

3. Men's Shoes

Women aren’t the only ones who wear flip-flops. Men like them, too. One of my favorite summer fashionable shoes for men, however, are the Converse slip-on sneakers. Converse tennis shoes are a classic, anyway, and the slip-on version just makes them all the more perfect for running around in the summer time. With raw edges and no shoelaces, these shoes are styling. They come in black and gray for just under $50.

4. Men's Hats

Snapback caps in numerous colors are a fun summer accessory. Traditional baseball caps are another option. Both run from 20 to 30 dollars.

For something fancier, there are several different kinds of Fedoras. Now, those are really stylish and can dress up any casual outfit.

5. Men's Sunglasses

Sunglasses are another must-have for summer. And for ten dollars a pair, it might be prudent to pick up a couple of pairs. Mirrored sunglasses are popular, as are the clearer aviator sunglasses. Jazzy sunglasses come in different colors. There are really styles for everyone.

Do Men Even Care about Fashion?

Do men really care about what they wear? Well, according to much of the research, many don't care a whole lot. Looking around in the real world, however, I tend to disagree. I see guys all the time in cool, comfy clothing that looks good on them.

Plenty of men wear trendy jackets and fashionable shoes. Even the purposeful grungy look or the stuffy professor with the sweater--men seem to care at least to an extent.

Sure, most men don't care about shopping like many women do, but they seem to have some interest in what goes into their wardrobes. Maybe this hub will give them a bit more information about summer wear to help them save time on their summer shopping, if nothing else.

Nice and useful hub. Summer is the time to relax so a simple and comfortable outfit would do just fine. And summer sales, i agree, is a chance to spend much less money.

Thanks, Bill! It's been hard this summer to keep up with HubPages very well, but I'm trying to publish hubs here and there. Yes, you're right about summer sales. It's amazing how early they start the sales. Thanks for stopping by!

Good to see you back here, Vicki! Great suggestions. I've found over the years that Lands End has some of the best deals on June they already have summer clothes discounted to a very affordable rate. :)
