Super Fast Makeup Routine

Updated on July 15, 2010

Most of us don't have time to primp and fuss over ourselves first thing in the morning, unless you want to wake up at the crack of dawn, but who does that?  We need to get dressed, get out, and start our lives.  But you can still look fresh and pretty if you follow super fast makeup routine.

Step One - Foundation

Use a damp sponge and apply a tinted moisturizer.  This is a much better option than applying moisturizer and then foundation.  Even oily skin needs this, just find an oil free tinted moisturizer and apply a small amount in dots all over your face and then smooth into skin with your sponge.

Step Two - Concealer

You typically won't need this step, but if you have a zit or dark circles under your eyes, you may want to dot in some concealer and stipple (Push it gently into your skin) with your damp sponge to blend well.

Step Three - Powder

Loose or pressed powder is needed to set your foundation and prepare your face for the rest of your makeup.  Use pressed powder and stipple it in to your T-Zone if you have oily or combination skin and then brush it over the rest of your face.

Step Four - Blush

Some people skip this step too.  But if you have a tendency to look washed out, you'll definitely want at least a quick wash of color.  Smile, and brush the blush over the apple of your cheek.  That's it!

Step Five - Eyes

A neutral tone of eye shadow over your lids and into the crease is all you need for a good daytime look.  To wake your eyes up just a bit more, add white highlights directly under your eyebrows.  Add a thin sweep of eyeliner, smudge for a smoky look and then put on mascara.  The controversy is whether or not you add mascara to your bottom lashes.  Try it both ways and use your preference.

Step Six - Lips

A quick dash of lipstick or lip gloss and you are ready to hit the door!  Use a light, bright color to make your lips look bigger.  Remember, blue based shades will make teeth look whiter, so stick to those if you want an extra engaging smile.

Bonus Tip - Going from Day to Night in Two easy Steps

Add a darker eyeshadow in a bit of a shimmery shade into the crease of your eyes and use a darker or vampy red lipstick.  Your ready for a great evening!

Now isn't that fast and painless?  If your going to be out all day, carry your eyeliner, powder and lip color for quick touch ups.  Staying pretty and fresh looking is easy when you follow this routine.
