Winter Proof Your Lips

Updated on May 13, 2018

Soften Those Lips

The first step you will need to take in order to have a beautiful kisser is to soften your lips. Softer lips do not only feel better to kiss, they are also more attractive to look at. A soft set of kissers looks plumper than chapped lips they feel better too. Nobody is aching to kiss a pair of lips that look and feel like leather anyway.

Tips For Weathered Lips

1.Exfoliate your lips at least twice a week, I use a soft bristle toothbrush put a dab of toothpaste on it, and rub the toothbrush over my lips in a circular motion, rinse, then add a chap stick like Carmex.

2.Drink plenty of water this is the most effective thing you can do for yourself is to keep your lips moist.

3.Never bite your lips, inside or out this can cause bleeding, which can lead to an infection.

4.Avoid super salty foods, not only are these bad for your body but your lips as well.

Tips For Hot Lips

The next thing you need to do to get a set of hot lips is to brighten and whiten those enamel covered choppers. You can dress those lips up with as many layers of lipstick as you want, but if your teeth are yellow nobody's going to be paying any attention to anything but your teeth.

Tips For Whiter teeth

1.Brush your teeth with baking soda at least once every other week, you should start to notice a whiter smile in about a month.

2.Eat more strawberries, I know this sounds weird, but the acids in strawberries can actually wash stains away.

3.Rinse with peroxide once a month, please use as directed the bottle will usually tell you to mix half water and half peroxide.

4.Use a commercial whitener like Colgate whitening strips or Rembrandt.

5.Rinse your mouth out with water immediately after drinking coffee or tea.

6.Never drink soda, not only can soda stain your teeth, but it can cause them to decay as well.

7.Don't smoke, as a former smoker, I can't stress this one enough.

8.Brush your teeth at least twice a day, three if possible with regular all natural toothpaste.

Dress Your lips

Now that your teeth are whitened, and your lips are soft you can start dressing them up. You dress your lips up the same way you would your body. Always know your cosmetics, I mean would you wear clothes made of road apples? Here are a couple of things to look for when lipstick shopping.

1.The moisture content of the lipstick is it thick or whipped, whipped is always more moisturizing.

2.What is in your lipstick, know your ingredients read the tube.

3.Make sure the color you choose goes with your skin tone, there is usually a makeup, color charts at most makeup counters which can help you find the perfect color for your lips.

Below are a couple of moisture rich lipsticks and glosses, to help bring you one step closer to achieving hot lips.

Clinique Almost Lipstick

This is a super rich lip gloss, which goes on like a shiny lipstick. This lip gloss gives you the right amount of color, without being too dark. Colors like these are great for masking yellowed teeth.

I love how soft this lip gloss makes my lips, it keeps them supple and moist all winter long. This is one of my favorite lip glosses.

Sephora Fresh Sugar Kisses

This is a super hydrating mini duo that includes a lip treatment and a lipstick. This lipstick is a very pretty, practical daytime or evening lipstick, which leaves your lips feeling soft and looking beautiful.
