Tips On Applying Mascara!

Hey Sunshine's,

Welcome back to my hubs! I am super excited to be sharing this article with you guys! I didn't use to be such a huge fan of applying mascara's as I felt all gave the same effect and finish. This is until I learned the proper techniques of applying for it. It may seem weird that there is a mascara routine out there, however, it's true and it gives great results! Below are my tips and other articles that refer to great tricks on getting the perfect natural lashes! Below are some amazing mascara's tht you must try in no particular order. Happy Reading!

Tips & Tricks

  1. Curl your eyelashes before applying any mascara. Never use the curl afterward as this will break the eyelashes as the mascara will leave it super dry.
  2. Never pump the mascara wand, that pushes air into the tube, causing it to dry out faster. Instead, slowly draw out and twist the brush to scrape the tube's interior and pick up the product.
  3. Remove any excess product off your wand when taken out from the tube to avoid any clumps!
  4. You should be discarding your mascara after 3 months. "It's chalky and powdery, and any lengthening or thickening fibres often separate from the fluid, so the mascara stops going on in a smooth, even coat," says Makeup Artist Christina Bartolucci.
  5. Always start by first applying mascara to your top lashes. Press the mascara wand towards the roots and hold for 10 seconds. Let go! Repeat until all the top lashes are done.
  6. For thicker and fuller eyelashes effect, first fill in your top inner waterline with a black eyeliner. Then apply your mascara.

CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion Mascara

Mascara #1: CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion Mascara

This was my very first mascara that I've tried. It costs approx $9.99 CAD. You can purchase these at any local drugstore including, Walmart, Shoppers DrugMart, Pharma Plus, and Rexall Pharmacy. If you reside in the states then you can get it from Target, Ulta and Walgreens. If you reside outside of North America, then you can definitely purchase it on amazon.com or ebay.com.

This mascara is said to volumize, and lengthen the lashes. You can build on the desired coverage. It contains a fibre stretch formula and oversized brush! If you're looking for a mascara that you need to fill in the eyelashes and as a beginner then this is a great mascara to use. You can find this in both black and brown shades. This is a go to mascara for volumizing the eyelashes!

Marcelle Ultimate Lash Mascara

Mascara #2: Marcelle Ultimate Lash Mascara

I love this mascara! This was my recent purchase! Well, exactly a month ago! There are many reasons to love it! Firstly, it is Marcelle! This brand does not only come with unique products, but the quality and price of their products are super good! The cost of this mascara is approx $10.99 CAD. Again, you can purchase all these mascara's pretty much at any beauty counter in a local drugstore! You will not find this on eBay or amazon.com. Sorry!

The packaging is super classy! The white tube makes you want to bring it with you when travelling. It provides thin to fuller eyelashes, depending on the buildup. It also maximizes the volume of lashes without clumps and flakes. This mascara is not waterproof, however, it has proteins formula to give it a long lasting effect. Another great feature is that is hypoallergenic. Don't know what hypoallergenic is? It means that it will not cause any allergic reaction! The wand brush is straight, nothing to curvy to allow volumizing the bottom lashes easily.

Wet n Wild Mega Volume Mascara

Mascara #3: Wet n Wild Mega Volume Mascara

This mascara has been around for some time now! It is really popular on Beauty YouTube videos. I bought this when it first came out and I love it since. I've used two of these tubes already. Just as the name says it is for volumizing the length of the eyelashes. It cost approx. $3.99 CAD and you can purchase it online as well as beauty counter stores. Sometimes, when you look at the price this cheap of a beauty product you would think something is definitely wrong with it. With this, there isn't. If you are starting out with a mascara, then try this one for a more natural finish.

L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Volume Building Mascara

Mascara #4: L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Volume Building Mascara

Just as the Marcelle mascara that was mentioned above, this one comes with a really classy tube/packaging as well. You would want to take this one for travelling. The cost is approx. $9.99 CAD. You can easily purchase this at any local drugstore beauty counter and online. This mascara is a must for a more of a "glamorous" look. If you're getting yourself ready for a night out with friends or even a date, or possibly a party then you would want to apply layers of this mascara. It is said to give 4x fuller eyelashes, very dramatic volume, and it separates and builds each lash very nicely. I agree with the description of this mascara. It also comes with an option of a straight or curved brush.

Some of the other great features is that it lasts all day, it is fragrance-free, it will not clump or flake, it is suitable for contact wear and is fine for sensitive eyes. and it is allergy tested. If applied right, this mascara can give you the eyelashes that you always wanted without making it look "fake."

Maybelline Volum'Express the Falsies Mascara

Mascara #5: Maybelline Volum'Express the Falsies Mascara

This is another great affordable mascara! The cost is approx. $7.40 CAD and it may be cheaper at a sale at one of the local drugstores or even online. I usually refer to the well.ca website prices. It is a great Canadian Health & Beauty site for all beauty lovers.

This is another mascara that is really popular on YouTube beauty videos. It comes in both black and brown shades. If you are not a big fan of false lashes because you don't like the application or the feel of it, but still like to get that "false" effect without wearing them, then you may want to try this mascara. It is said to give you a false lashes look. It is also said to bold, volumize and fan out the eyelashes. If you don't like the sound of falsies in any way, then you will avoid this product. The description is surprisingly true. The wand really grabs each eyelash individually making the overall look fuller. This mascara is waterproof! A must have for an everyday routine!

e.l.f. Studio Mineral Infused Mascara

e.l.f. Studio Mineral Infused Mascara

Mascara #6: e.l.f. Studio Mineral Infused Mascara

All beauty geeks know that e.l.f is probably one of the cheapest companies ever produced on makeup history online. Some of it's products are super amazing with awesome quality. This mascara is one of them. The price of this product is $4.24 CAD and you can purchase it online or directly from the eyesfacelips.com website. If you reside in Canada and want to avoid huge shipping charges then a good place is well.ca or Giant Tiger. Of course, online as well.

This mascara thickens the eyelashes. With just two coats, the lashes look more fuller yet natural. It is clump free and lasts all day. I was skeptical when purchasing this mascara, however after a few uses and the soft feel of my lashes, it was worth the try. Can this become an everyday mascara? It depends on your needs. I have my other favourites as everyday mascara's.

Almay One Coat Thickening Mascara

Mascara #7: Almay One Coat Thickening Mascara

This one is good quality and affordable mascara as well. The cost of this is approx. $8.99 CAD and again can be found at any drugstore beauty counter or online. This one is also great for travelling. It is said to give thicker lashes on one coat. I agree with the thicker and more fuller eyelashes, however, you need more than one coat for it. My preference is usually three coats before it gives me the desired effect. It is also flakes and clump free. The aloe and vitamin B5 ingredients in this mascara keep the eyelashes soft. I agree with this too. Your eyelashes will love the feel of this mascara. This product is hypoallergenic and Ophthalmologist tested. Don't know what Ophthalmologist means? It is the "branch of medicine concerned with the study and treatment of disorders and disease of the eye", Google Dictionary. Add this mascara to your collection and you won't be disappointed.

Annabelle Expandable Mascara

Source

Mascara #8: Annabelle Expandable Mascara

You guys might be thinking what is this girl doing with all this makeup? I don't blame you guys. It's me. I am a beauty blogger as well, so I love to try and share my opinions on anything and everything related to beauty! I own this mascara for a while now. I love it! Believe it or not, but some of Annabelle's makeup is up to the mark. It is affordable and good in quality.

This mascara provides maximum length and volume. The wand brush is made of a polymer which changes the direction as you apply the mascara on lashes. This one is easy to remove and lasts long. It will not flake or clump and not over dry the mascara. The cost is $10.99 CAD approx. Again, you can purchase it any drugstore. However, you will not be able to purchase it online. Overall, this is a must have as well!

Pure Anada Natural Mascara

Mascara #9: Pure Anada Natural Mascara

Were you looking for a natural mascara? Your search is over. The Pure Anada Natural Mascara is a 100% pure natural mascara sold in Canada. It is currently only available at well.ca for $14 CAD approx. You may get it for cheaper if you wait for a sale.

It is available in two basic colors, brown and black. It is paraben, gluten and mercury free. Don't know what mercury in makeup is? Let me tell you, mercury is a metallic element found naturally in the environment. It is a shiny, silver-white liquid. It is usually used in eye makeup products to intensify the effect of the product. It is used in very small quantity in makeup, small enough not to harm your eyes. It is also reviewed and assessed by FDA regulations before it is legalized to be sold for the public. Let's go back to the continued features here. It is to thicken the eyelashes while building the volume. Also, it contains a curve wand to ensure a beautiful curve in your lashes and applying the mascara on each individual lash.

Revlon Lash Potion Volume + Length Mascara

Mascara #10: Revlon Lash Potion Volume + Length Mascara

I absolutely love this mascara as well! The first thing you notice is the cute packaging of this product. It's super funky! It definitely is a magical potion tube that evolves your eyelashes beautifully. This mascara comes in blackest black and blackened black shades. This is said to increase the length and add volume to the eyelashes. This one is really good for lengthening the lashes. It does a great job with volumizing as well, almost making it look fake. You can purchase this for approx. $10.99 or less at beauty stores such as Walmart, Shoppers Drugsmart, etc. You can most definitely purchase it online too. This one is a must have in your collection!
