What is the Most Comfortable Bra? - Customer Genie Bra Review
My Genie bras
Is there such a thing as a comfortable bra?
Well, first I would have to say that the most comfortable bra is no bra at all. The women of the 1960s had it right when they set those things to fire, an inspiring demise that appears to be nothing more than an urban legend, unfortunately.
Who came up with these confining contraptions that we call "brassieres"? How could something so confining ever be comfortable to wear? Personally, I've always thought the phrase "comfortable bra" to be an oxymoron.
I like comfort, so my search for the "perfect" bra started early on in my bra-wearing years. I have shopped, I have tried on, I have ordered, and I have always been disappointed.
I don't want to feel a garment wrapped tightly around my chest. At some point, though, in my quest for the perfect bra, I did realize that my dreams of finding a bra that wouldn't touch my skin was an impossibility. Only when I accepted this compromise could I begin to find a bra that would satisfy me enough at least in being as comfortable as it could be.
Review from Real Customer
Review of the Genie Bra
After searching for many years for the perfect bra, I finally gave up and limited myself to wearing two older, looser bras that didn't feel as though they were sucking the life out of me.
Then, one day, I was watching television with my boyfriend when an infomercial about Genie bras came on. Don't ask me why we--at least he--didn't immediately turn the channel. Maybe I mentioned my trouble in finding a comfortable bra. At any rate, we watched the whole commercial--or infomercial--about bras.
Watching the women on there go happily from bumpy chested to smooth chested caught my attention, as did the disappearance of back fat. The women, with chest sizes from small to extra large, claimed the genie bra was comfortable while providing adequate support.
I was sold. Trying the genie bra was worth a try, as I had tried practically everything that had come along. I had a drawerful of bras I wouldn't wear and that just needed to be thrown out.
I went online and ordered the set--one in black, one in white, and one in beige. I actually ended up with two of each as the "Wait--there's more!" TV ad offered two sets instead of one.
Ordering was easy as there was no real guessing about sizing. Customers may order anywhere from extra small (XS) to extra large (4XL), sizes that correlate to their usual clothing sizes..
I was happy with the price, too. With shipping, the bras came to be about $12 apiece. I have seen them recently in the stores in "As Seen on TV" sections. They are not really cheaper, with packages of two for $20 not counting taxes.
I was pleased with my decision to try the Genie bra. I waited eagerly for my package to arrive.

Cons of the Genie Bra
The bras came with pads in them. I didn't catch that on the infomercial. I'm not sure that was mentioned. I was distraught until I realized that the pads could be easily removed. Yea! The bras was still thick enough to cover what they needed to cover just fine. The bra is smooth with or without the pads. The pads are just not needed--except for maybe smaller-sized ladies who want a little more . . . .
The straps are a bit wider than what I would prefer, as they show occasionally and are harder to move over. Still, that's not a big deal. Some girls just love to show their little bra straps, anyway, so with the genie bra, there's more to show.
The Magic Genie Bra gets my vote!
Pros of the Genie Bra
Well, after I took out the padding, I was eager to try on the bra. I loved the fit and smooth look without the padding. The Genie bra held things where they should be (with no underwires!), and--lo, and behold--the look from the back was also smooth! I was very pleased with the fit.
If you like to show cleavage, the genie bra will hold you together to create that look. If you don't, however, you can also adjust the bra to minimize this type of showing. Another neat thing about the bra is that it acts as a camisole under blouses that are a little too low-cut.
Like the woman on the personal review video, I have also worn my genie bra while working out, and it was as good or better than many sports bras I have tried. I can vouch for her statement that the Genie bra is the only bra she needs. Perhaps a heavy-duty sports bra would be needed for super vigorous physical activities, but the Genie bra could work just fine with many activities.
And ladies--these bras are easily cared for, too. They do just fine in the washer and dryer!

How does the Genie Bra compare to other bras?
How does the Genie bra compare to other bras, perhaps copycat bras, that are now filling the shelves? Are the other bras any better? Cheaper? I've heard that the Ahh Bra is bulkier and not as supportive. I haven't had a reason to try it, since I've been happy with my Genie bras. As far as price, the Genie bra is about the same as others I've seen.
Try other brands if you wish, but I can wholeheartedly vouch for the Genie bra. It's smooth, supportive, and, in my opinion, as comfortable as a bra can get. Take it from someone who has always hated bras. For the bra-burning, bra-hating gals who only wear bras when they have to, I can tell you that the Genie bra gets my vote.

What is your opinion of the Genie Bra?
What about panty lines? I have an opinion about these pesky things, too!

Is it okay to have panty lines? I'll admit that I considered different ways to avoid them before I embraced them as a part of life!

I think sports bras are comfortable. But they may not be intended for regular use!
Interesting post. Regular bras get on my nerves, so it is nice to hear about one that could be a little more comfortable.
I agree: I love the Genie Bra! When I worked as a Call Center Agent, I took calls (I was that 800 number to call from the TV ad), and they sold like hot cakes. That was almost two years ago and apparently they are still selling very well. That's a good sign. The prices are about the same as then too.
Great review of the Genie Bra. I voted this UP, etc.
That was an odd little setting that allows you to show only "featured hubs" on your profile. It was turned on, I turned it off and all is well. Not sure why you would want to do that but, mine is not to reason why. The juices are flowing like... well... like some flowing analogy... I'm happy to hear you are having success with the AP!
I haven't done anything in months thanks to a project that sapped all my creative juices - I see you've been busy though!
Nice work Vicki - If I had the chest to pull it off, I go out and get me a couple. (I feel so much closer to you now after reading this...)
Had to check this out:) lol. True that bras are just uncomfortable contraptions that are tortuous. Why don't we make men start binding up their parts in fabrics and elastics and stuff? Hahaha
Ok so I might have to get the Genie!
Oh what a dilemma this can be at times. So thanks for this great hub which is so very useful. Take care and enjoy your day.
Eddy.
Back to report on my experience. I have worn the blue one several times now, and find it very comfortable as long as I am moving around. I have it on right now and went shopping in it. No problem until I sat at the computer for several hours, and now I'm finding it as binding as a regular bra. I am going to have to remove it. The pink one is slightly looser than the blue one, in fact almost too loose, so the sizing isn't consistent although they are both labeled the same. Anyway they are both more comfortable than an underwire, and I might consider wearing them to work. I am very sensitive because I had ribs broken on both sides and cracked sternum from a bus accident six years ago, so that may be why I am experiencing discomfort right now. Anyway, I recommend them, and for the price, they are a bargain.
Until reading your hub I thought a comfortable bra was a pipe dream! Now I'm anxious to try this. I like that it can be used for sports activities, too, and doesn't have an underwire. Hard to imagine all that in one package! Thank you for sharing.
I have seen these advertised on TV, they do look comfortable. After your review, I may try one. I do wear sports bras but they tend to be a little tight at times for wearing around the home. Thanks for the tips.
I hate bra shopping and have seen these popping up everywhere. I might just have to give them a try after reading this! Good job.
Thank you for this hub. I was also looking at them . Whether I want it or not, I am a double d and need all the reinforcemnts available. Still. I sure would like a comfy bra, too! Even though $12 a bra is an amazingly good price, you purchased 6 of them to get that. I am not prepared to buy that many if they don't work but now that I see good revoews and gppd comments, too, I think I may try the "as seen on tv" ones! Thank you for a great, informative hub! Up and useful!
I was thinking about getting these. Thanks for the review. I'm from the no bra generation also, but being a size 40DD, I can't go without. Would the Genie bra support someone as well endowed as me?
The Genie Bra is fantastic. However, the only issue that I have is the fact that they must be put out by different companies. I picked up two packages from the display at a local store. The sizing charts were different. After I found the size that fit the best, I have a NEW BRA, Style. I have slept in them and have found nothing but absolute comfort. I must advise, if you read the inside print on the Genie Bra, you will find that you are supppose to hand wash these bras. But, to each their own.
Vicki - One night I fell asleep with the television on and was awoken in the middle of the night by an infomercial (I swear the volume on those is louder) for the Genie bra. I was intrigued by the same smiling women that you were and how flattering a fit it appeared to have. So I'm so glad to read a review of the Genie bra by someone who has actually purchased it and worn it.
This is the only kind of bra for me. I dislike hooks, these are so comfortable. I was able to purchase three for twenty nine dollars. I thought that was a great price. Thank you for sharing..Voted up..
That's funny, I just bought a package of two Genie bras last weekend, strictly to wear on weekends and at home. The ones I bought don't quite fit your description, so I wonder if they have changed them. Mine don't offer enough support for anyone over a B cup. What you described as "pads" in yours were thin shells that added some shaping and enough support to inspire me to buy them. Anyway, I bought them and I will see if I trade them for my old comfortable worn-out "shopping bras". I am from the "burn the bra" generation and I am not fond of bras anyway. I sure don't like these uncomfortable, expensive underwire thingys that we have today, but it is impossible to find a Playtex Cross Your Heart without underwires in a size smaller than a 40DD. Loved your hub and voted it up and, believe it or not, useful!
The Genie Bra is very comfy. I have two and intend to get more. Alas, they do not support me when I exercise but I attribute that to old age and certain parts being floppy. lol
Hi, Victoria! I was nodding my head at your first statement - I'm a believer in NO BRA - buuuuttt...we can't get away with that everyday - or everywhere, now can we...
I have seen these genie bras on tv and must say they are the first to pique my interest. They do look comfy and could easily be worn to work out! I'm in! Thanks!
A great hub and so very useful for many of us ladies. I vote up and share.
Eddy.
The most comfortable bra has to be like the real-life glass slipper. I have great bras that work on most days but don't work on some. It seems like I can't win for losing.
Now that you've given this a solid review, I think I'm going to try a Genie Bra and see how it goes. Thanks for sharing this!
This was such a great hub on a subject so close to my heart...oooo ...er.... no joke intended. I also have a drawer full of bras that I should throw out.
I am definately going to try these as soon as I can work out what size will I need to be comfortable. Aaaaargh!!
I totally agree, I love them. I even wrote a hub about Genie Bra and my other favorite "TV" item, Pajama Jeans. I bought both of those products in stores (CVS and Walmart). I like buying in stores because it's easier to return if you don't like it, besides you only have to buy 2 to try them instead of 6.
Not sure if we can get these in the UK, but after reading your review I will be on the look out. I also find most bras uncomfortable.
I've been wondering about the Genie Bra. I might just give it a try now. I have also searched for a comfortable bra for years and never found it. Thanks for the review!
I have also noticed that ad on TV for the Genie Bra. Finding one that is comfortable by even trying them on is hard enough. I hesitated ordering any by mail, but after your glowing report, I might just have to give them a try. Thanks! Up, useful and will share.
I'll give it a go as like you I have searched the world over many times for the right bra and I am still looking. Mine need a lot of support and one that I can wear exercising is a great bonus as well. Great informative hub.
Really interesting topic to review. I've always wondered whether that bra actually gave you any shape. Now I know. Thanks!
Funnily enough I have always loved my bras. I don`t have very large breasts - 36 c but younger a 34b. I had breast cancer a few years back and after surgery finding a bra to fit my two newly re-sized and different sized breasts was hard but good old marks and spencers in the UK fit me just fine. Thanks for a great review!
My daughter and I both love the genie bra. I too was a little shocked when they arrived with the thick padded cups, and quickly removed them. Very comfortable!!
Well, heck, I certainly helped your bounce rate Vicki :) I read every word and watched the entire videos! Great review. I am in desperate need of finding new bras that are comfortably for me. I'm sold and must try the Genie Bra. Thanks so much for writing this for me, ha.
I bought 2 Genie bras about a month ago at Walmart. Love them! Most comfortable bra I have ever worn.
Great Review... Bought a couple a few weeks ago and thought I would only wear them at home, but they are soooo comfortable and look great under tshirts so my other bras have stayed in the drawer. Getting ready to order some more...
You've got me sold! I've been watching those commercials for years, but never bought because like you said at the start of this entertaining and informational hub, I'm of the opinion that NO bra can be comfortable and I didn't like the idea of using mail order for a bra.
But after reading this, I think it's definitely worth placing an order. At a minimum, I can wear them around the house.
BTW: I loved your rant against bras at the start of this hub. It had me chuckling and put me in a very receptive mood for your review.
Voted up across the board and shared.
Great review on the pros and cons of the Genie Bra. A good sports bra is something that every woman needs. I might look into it after all. Thanks
Hi Victoria, Do you know that I almost wrote a hub on the Genie Bra.. I've seen the infomercial on TV a few times. I don't know. Personally, I think it looks too old lady like. Lol.. I am sure that it is comfortable, no doubt about it, but I would much rather wear my sexy bras and panties from Victoria Secret. Voted up!
I saw the infomercial too! I never order from the tv, but it actually caught my attention long enough that I watched the whole thing and wondered if it was as good as they claimed. With your glowing report, I think I will have to check it again. Are you suppose to hand wash these things too? I just recently found out that I wasn't suppose to be drying them in the dryer...no wonder the darn things never last....
Vee.....C'mon,girl....we all know the answer to this question. The most comfortable bra of all, is NO bra, at all!
I have friends who wear the Ahh-Bra and the genie bra and the nothing bra.......Not all at once. lol
I wear sexy, lacy Victoria's Secret Bras.......garter belt and fish net stockings, Stiletto heels, tons of jewelry and layers of make-up...and.....Well, that's just for work......did you mean for at-home wear? UP++++
Great review on the Genie Bra. I, too, have worn old bras that should have been ditched long ago, but they had hit the comfort zone so stayed with me til they were threadbare.
LOL...first comment on bras! Can you tell that I like you?
Okay, I have no further comment; I'm here because you are a friend and I respect you, but I will not stay on this hub any longer than necessary. :)
Good job Vicki; I hope you are well and happy!
