What to expect with Permanent Eyeliner
My experience with upper permanent eyeliner
After years of having my eyeliner end up under my eyes accentuating the dark circles, I decide to look into getting permanent eyeliner done. First, I did a lot of reading online about what to expect and questions to ask. I found most of the internet sites used the same photos and pushed their services. Here's my pictures of before and after over a series of weeks to show you the healing process. I am not wearing any make-up in most of the photos.
My advise: Start with only getting the liner between the lashes and a slim line of eyeliner. You can always go back and get more tattooed. There is no real black color, the black color is more of a dark grey when applied or tattooed in. It does not look weird when done correctly. Actually you would only see it from very near if at all. You could get it done in a way that it only looks like you have more and denser lashes. The colors should not contain any dangerous particles.
The procedure was done in two visits. The first visit was the longest and most uncomfortable. She used a numbing gel that did not completely take the sensation away so it felt like she was lightly scratching my eyelid. I could feel my eyelid twitching under the needle but had no way to control it. The second session was to fill any gaps or darken the line depending on how your eyelids healed. The second session she used a new cream and the discomfort was minimal.
The eyeliner looks much darker and heavier the first two days. As time passes the tattoo will scab and then flake off leaving the final version of the eyeliner. The shiny look if from the petroleum jelly I was told to keep on my eyelids until they healed.
I wanted my eyeliner to look very natural and just make my eyelashes look fuller. I can always make it heavier for a special occasion. You will notice I had my lower eyelids done a few years ago and the tattoo is not even or balanced. One eyelid took and held the dye much better then the other so they do not match. I am having my lower eyelids re- done on the follow up visit. This is not the original permanent makeup artist doing my uppers.
