Who Else Wants the Perfect Mascara?

Updated on October 5, 2011

The Perfect Mascara

With so many choices available, which mascara do you buy? What should you look for? Is mascara important? Yes, mascara is important, why? Because it enhances lashes, by making them look healthy, how you may ask? Mascara gives lashes fullness and length, which make the eyes look bright, open, and sensual.

For years my favorite mascara has been Christian Dior Diorshow 090 (not waterproof), it’s amazing and gives me all the benefits described above, it goes on very smooth, and gives me a “Whoah” look, making me feel pretty, (every woman wants to feel pretty). The Diorshow lasts about 4 weeks, and the product begins to clump up inside the tube, hmmm ... not so good.

Last month, while visiting the make-up counter at Nordstroms, I received a sample mascara tube by Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, I gratefully accepted it, my thoughts were “Well, I know what I like and works for me, but I’ll give it a try”, ... Ohhh! Now I’m torn ... I really like this new product! Bobbi Brown seems to last longer (in the tube), and doesn’t clump up, and separates the lashes giving my lashes an open fan look, ... a big yes to this!!! The not so good part is I have to reapply a couple of times, while the Diorshow lasts all day and night long.

My opinion? Both brands are awesome, they have similar benefits, yet they give my eyes a different look, so I’ve decided to have one of each, depending on my activity, event, I’ll use the more suitable one.

Not everyone likes to purchase their mascara at the mall, drugstore brands are just a s good, It took me a little while to find one I liked. After some research, blog activity, and by asking my readers what they like, Maybelline Great Lash in Blackest Black is the favorite pick. This is what one of my favorite readers said:

Holly: “Good 'ol Maybelline Great Lash, in Blackest Black. The best, most user-friendly formula, with the easiest to use and most flattering brush. and, uh, yeah... Is the most classic with a dramatic color!”

Thank you Holly!

A Blissful Skin mascara picks are : Christian Diorshow 090, Bobbi Brown, and Maybelline Great Lash. May this help all of you with choosing the right product for your beautiful lashes!
