You're A Man Who Loves Lingerie? Don't Forget The Silk Scarves!

Updated on February 3, 2010

Now here's a way of wearing the cool touch of lingerie without anyone throwing a broken social norm induced fit at you. Silk scarves are the perfect accompaniment for any outfit, can be worn close around your neck where you can feel the light and silky touch, and will not cause any controversy whatsoever unless you happen to be digging ditches and you choose a mauve scarf that clashes with your overalls.

Seriously however, I highly recommend that every man (and indeed, every couple,) have a minimum of three silk scarves. (That's one for the eyes and two for the wrists. Actually, make that five if you want to get the ankles as well.) Not only are silk scarves beautiful and sensual pieces of attire, they're also incredibly utilitarian.

It's possible to purchase silk scarves all over the show. If you live near a metropolitan area, there's sure to be at least one guy or gal in the mall with a stall just dripping with them. If not, department stores usually carry silk scarves in the ladies section. Yes, silk scarves are still usually considered to be women's clothing, but a man with a sense of flair and style can usually carry one off without a hitch.

If you're feeling a little Audrey Hepburn about life, you can don your silk scarf over your head and drive along the highway with overly large glasses on your face. The young people adore overly large glasses, so there is a chance that you will be seen as being entertainingly fashionable, rather than simply dressed in women's clothing. Soon the day will come that wearing women's clothing is entertainingly fashionable, but right now it remains in the realm of the avant garde.

SIlk scarves are perfect for men who are doing their best to initiate the conversation about lingerie with an intimate partner. Unlike lingerie, a few silk scarves tucked away in your drawers won't send uninitiated ladies bolting, if anything, they will encourage interest. When you're playing about with the silk scarves, you can talk about how lovely they feel, and if you're feeling brave, that is a good segue point into how you like to feel the soft, luxurious touch of lingerie all the time. At least if she doesn't like the idea, by that time she's already tied to the bed.

(I kid, of course, one should never tie another person up and reveal intimate secrets to them against their will. That's what therapy and day time television talk shows are for.)
