The Greatest and Most Important Benefits of Simple Wedding Dresses

Updated on June 7, 2020

Simple wedding dresses are becoming more popular in recent years as many brides are recognizing the benefits in using a simple gown on their wedding day. Even still, a wedding is almost always the most sacred event in life for a woman, which leads every bride to feel that even her dress must be immaculate in order to achieve the desired effect. Some even feel that by wearing a simple dress, they are not getting the full benefits of a traditional wedding that they deserve. A simple gown however, can mean a cheaper price, easier find and even the opportunity of multiple uses for the bride. It does not mean that they are any less in quality, beauty or fashion than a more “decked out” dress.

Furthermore, simple should never be confused with plain, boring or dull. Just because something is simple, does not mean that it is not beautiful or exciting. In fact, there are many dresses out there in which are extremely simple yet, extremely elegant and stylish all at the same time. It does not stop there either. Like many brides are realizing today, there are still many other great things that should be considered when buying a simple wedding dress.

For instance, a simple dress keeps the focus on the bride:

When you are walking down the aisle, the most important thing is that all eyes are on you. It is after-all, your very special day and you want people to pay attention. While an extravagant dress will always have the guests noticing, it is in fact, the dress that is being noticed more-so than you. With a dress that is a little more simpler, the guests can pay more attention to you, your features and your happiness rather than just the attire that you are wearing. You can also be sure this way that the guests will be talking about how magnificent you looked long after the wedding and not just how fancy your dress was.

OK so, perhaps having all of the focus on you is not your concern but the cost is. Simple wedding gowns are also the best option when it comes to a budget. Since most simple dresses do not have all of the extra layering and fancy embellishments, they tend to be lower in cost. That is not to say that you cannot find an expensive gown that is also simple but it is more likely that they are going to be cheaper than their more extravagant counterparts. This means that you will be able to save money for other important things that you desire as well, such as: extra money for the ultimate honeymoon or decorations for your new home.

Additionally, everyone knows that when a bride buys her big day gown, the wedding is probably the only time that she is ever going to wear it. She could even spend a ton of money on that dress just to have it sit in her closet year after year collecting dust. With a simpler dress, however, this does not have to be the case. A simple dress that is light, and not too fancy, can be worn on many other special occasions such as cocktail parties or a special night out with the husband as well.

One last important thing to note is that simple wedding dresses do not have to remain simple. Even adding a special sash or other accessory can make them really sparkle. This is also a good way to be in control of how the dress appearance shapes out. So, whether you are looking for something more affordable, more subtle or just something that you can get more use out of, the simple dress is a great option to have you feeling and looking your best on your big day.
