Call me Imelda cause I love shoes!
My Shoe Designs and Me
Put together my love of shoes and my love of design and you have my shoe design ideas. Like my clothing designs, though, they are all just on paper awaiting a way of turning them into actual shoes.
When I was in college in my late teens and early 20s, I attended FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) part time while I was working full time. I, unfortunately, focused too much on credits received and time spent and not enough on what I really needed to learn. So now, I am left with a pile of designs and no way to bring them to life. So I need to choose shoes from the stores. (I should add that I'm a vegan and, therefore, do not wear leather)

What is it about SHOES?!?!?!?!?
When I was younger, a group of us used to gather at a friend's house on Shabbat (the Sabbath) and holiday afternoons and play games. One of the games I brought was called "Gender Bender". It had questions for men and for women -- the men had to figure out how the women would answer and the women had to figure out how the men would answer.
One of the questions was, "How many pairs of shoes is enough?" and the choices were " a few pairs in various colors", "one pair of shoes per outfit" and "there is no such thing as 'enough' shoes". While the guys chose different answers for what we would say, EVERY woman said "There is no such thing as 'enough' shoes".
This is something I notice myself. I always wish I had more shoes, I was so jealous of Carrie Bradshaw's shoe closet (from the first "Sex and the City" movie).
This summer, my nieces came to visit. I went shopping with them and came home with a great pair of purple sandals. Actually, I bought a lot of my most fun, best looking shoes while shopping with my nieces.
Update -- those purple sandals have become my favorite dressy sandals. I wore them to my niece's Bat Mitzva in 2011. They are stylish and comfortable. And, believe it or not, they only cost me $5. (To all you "Sex and the City" fans out there, needless to say, I'm Carry Bradshaw on a budget!)
