It's not just me, all self-described, self~respecting fashionistas share in one ideal: cowboy ~ or cowgirl ~ boots are a wardrobe must~have, no ifs, ands or buts about it. There's just too many cute outfits made complete by fun cowboy boots: roughed-up jeans and Western style boots, cute mini skirts paired with pink "cowgirls," peasant skirts topped off with funky stacked heel styles and my fave: Daisy Duke short~shorts with funky, low boots . . . need I say more?

I've been a fan of cowboy boots since I'm eight years old. My mom bought me a pair of cheap faux leather (really, some kind of weird plastic) black boots on clearance. Having a Miami address, it's easy to see these boots as being on sale for mere pennies. Anything more than a sandal during the summer in south Florida is going to be a give~away. The shoe departments I was used to never had boots of any ilk, so these gems, despite the sweat coupled with dime~sized blisters, were worn proudly. I paraded down the street as though I'd grown a foot taller overnight. I was the tomboy I'd always aspired to be and now my boots betrayed my new designation.
Maybe it's this early life experience that's etched in my psyche coupled with a need to stand out from the ho~hum of the pack, that I'm so drawn to cowboy boots. Irregardless, if I had my drothers, I'd only own cowboy boots versus the serious (dare I say, "stuffy?"), lack luster footwear I've seen today. So, cowboy boots it is!
