Tawnya is a freelance writer and mom of a tiny gymnast. When it comes to buying gymnastics-related gear, I'm an industry pro.

Creating Perfect Manicures at Home

I love the way a fresh manicure makes me feel, but I hate how much it costs. Adding to my expense is my spoiled eleven-year-old who loves to get her nails done with mommy. In an effort to make sure both of us have beautiful nails, without going broke, I purchased the dotting pen set featured in this lens. At first, I didn't know what to expect. However, with a price that is so low, I figured I really couldn't go wrong. After using the nail pen for the very first time, I knew I had found a great alternative to my very expensive salon manicures.

How the Nail Art Pen Set Works

Even if you have never done nail art before, this pen set is extremely easy to use. Each pen, there are five in a pack, has a different size bead on each end. The different sized pens can be used to dot nail polish on, make squiggly marks, or even draw lines.

When you have chosen the right pen for the nail art you are looking to create simply dip the pen into the nail polish bottle. It's important to note if the nail polish is less than half full, you may have a difficult time getting nail polish on the end of the pen. When this happened to me, I gently poured some nail polish onto a paper plate and dipped the pen in the nail polish from there, but I did end up wasting a bit.

How to Care for Dotting Nail Art Pens

To ensure I can easily find my dotting pens, I store them in the little plastic case that they are shipped in. In addition to storing the pens in the plastic pocket, I also make sure I rinse the dotting pens after every use. Washing them right away helps prevent nail polish from building up on the pens.

Choose the Perfect Dotting Pen Colors

For this lens, I choose to feature the dotting pens in pink, but there are many different choices to choose from. For instance, I have the multi-color pack that contains yellow and blue pens. My daughter has a pack that are all purple. When choosing one of these particular dotting pen color sets for your very own, it's important to remember that all nail art pens are exactly the same, just the exterior color is different.
